Anyone else start making something and just never finish it?
I'm going through all those pieces that I started and pushed aside, and I'm actually going to FINISH them! π€πΌ A few stone set pieces on the way like these chunky statement rings from the last collection π
I think I've done more hours in the workshop this past week than in the last few months combined! So thankful for a bit of motivation returning. I'll be cramming in as much workshop time as I can before the girls break up for summer hols in 2 weeks... Then you won't hear from me again for 6 weeks π€£βοΈ
β Symbol studs β (Yes I painted a single nail so it didn't look completely gross in this photo)
I've been melting down all my scrap into these little irregular studs, hand stamped with symbols!
These are going to be available at Winter markets and I'm thinking of selling them individually so you can mix and match and build your own pairs/sets as they're all so different! What do we think, yay or nay to buying studs individually? No wrong answers here, feedback always appreciated π€
~ Dahlia ring and recycled silver anklet, what a summer combo! ~
We're off for the kids park run and park yoga this morning, no slow Sundays in this house anymore now that Ruis has found a passion for running π
I hope some of you are at least still in bed with a cuppa! Happy Sunday all βοΈ
I'm going to share some images from past photoshoots because there's soooo many beautiful ones that I've not posted before!
Here's a chunky zero waste ring in action shot by - these are made by melting down scrap silver at home and are hammered and rolled into the loveliest organic shapes before being put through the rolling mill for a final time with a fern leaf. Every outcome is completely unique and it's such an enjoyable process πΏ
Mini versions of these are available too!
π Samples and seconds sale is now live π
Here's a round up of earrings, pendants, rings and one silver bangle! Head to stories for a link to shop some beautiful one off pieces π€
~ SAMPLES AND SECONDS SALE coming Friday at 7pm ~
(Sorry for the confusion of writing 'incoming' on stories and then nothing further, a few of you were very confused and I can see why π
)
This Friday I'll be releasing pieces onto the website at heavily discounted prices. These are samples, have imperfections or are pieces that have simply been hanging around in the loft for a few years and need to move on. These stone set jewels will be amongst some botanical pieces and some polymer clay - remember when I used to do that?!
I'll be uploading over the next few days so you can see what will be available, but it won't be listed as in stock until Friday at 7pm π€
All creatives experience peaks and troughs, as do all small businesses I imagine⦠I'm in a very troughy trough and have been for some time (hence my complete lack of presence here). Such a trough that I've been tempted to call it day. I think I've been successfully talked out of that by Christine but I'm not sure it's going to be business as usual for the summer months.
The last couple of months have been a storm of illness, holiday, half terms, working for another jeweller (which I love) amongst just general life as a parent and watching the world burn. I could probably count on one hand the amount of days I've had in the workshop.
I've done one market so far this year which was not a successful one for me, after 4 months of unsuccessful ones at the end of 2023. I feel like Iβm unwilling to shed out money and energy into doing another one anytime soon at the risk of having another deflating experience (makers will know that soul destroying feeling a crap market can bring). I just don't feel like I have the motivation or ability to grow Botanical Boheme at the moment, and have come to a bit of a standstill if truth be told!
Basically, I'm still here, but I'm kind of not here. I'm hoping my drive will return soon because in the meantime I've become the kind of person who sorts out the cutlery draw and cleans under the toaster - anyone who knows me knows that's not normal Stevie behaviour π
If you've read this far, you can enjoy a 90% discount in the shop (not really, sorry there's no winners here). Thank you for continuing to follow along while I sort my s**t out, the website is still open and running as usual π€
The hills are aliiiiiive with the sound of muuuuuuusiccccc... I'm sure Austria will miss me randomly bursting into song, belting out those Sound of Music tunes.
Everything about the week was perfect, now I just want to live in a cabin in the mountains ποΈ
We're off on our holibobs this week to Austria βοΈ
The website will remain open but any orders placed from now won't be processed until Monday 27th. All website orders from the last couple of weeks have been posted π€
Anklets are LIVE! Thank you so much to the super early birds who have already snagged one π€
It's getting a bit foot heavy round here now isn't it?...
~ Anklets are hitting the website tomorrow at 8pm ~
There's 4 ready made, but I'll be making these as made to order as well so you can get the size you need β¨
Anklets are coming tomorrow people, 8pm β¨
~ Anklets ~ These got such a great reaction on stories yesterday, thank you! They're made from 100% recycled silver and all those little charms are made from melting down my scrap at home and hammering into those irregular discs. Who doesn't love dressing up their ankles all pretty when the sun comes out?! Coming soon βοΈ
Well and truly ready for a day in the workshop, without hearing the word mummy every 30 seconds π΅βπ« This Easter break has been beautiful and jam packed and I'm now officially over stimulated and pretty grumpy π
A couple of pieces still available from the Moor Collection, featuring Ted's lovely spotty head πΆ A dog is guaranteed to disrupt and improve a photoshoot greatly!
~ the last 6 pieces from the Moor collection, one of a kind and ready to ship ~
I've got so much scrap silver built up and I'm thinking ankle bracelets are going to be my next make after I've finished a couple of commissions... But it's the Easter hols and I've had a whole 2 hours to myself since Thursday so that won't be happening anytime soon πΌ
Still amazed at the perfect shade of green these ring boxes are ππΌ
Orders are being posted out tomorrow π€
Aannndddd it's here, the Moor collection πΏ
~ 2 hours until the Moor collection goes live! ~
I've just finished writing all the listings and updating the images with some beauties from a mini shoot with yesterday. Our wild photoshoot couldn't go ahead so we crammed into the brightest corner we could find indoors and made it work πΏ
There's 16 pieces up for grabs tonight making this my biggest collection yet! I've been swimming in self doubt for a fair few months now but creating this collection has been pure joy and peace for me π€
~ FRIDAY 7.30 ~
Forgot to include another 3 pieces in this picture... So find this and more on the website at 7.30pm on Friday!
There's some sample bits in there too so hopefully there's something for everyone's budget π€
I think I'll be genuinely sad to see a lot of this jewellery go, I've loved getting swept up in creativity with this collection!
Silver flowers, ready for spring! Shop them in person Spring Fayre on Thursday from 6.30pm πΌ Or online from Friday at 7.30 when the website reopens!
Happy Spring Equinox! A collective sigh of relief all round I think for those longer, brighter days ahead ~
So after making the first flower (right) I developed it into a much more symmetrical version with some granule detailing (left). Without taking the stone size into consideration which kind of shape do you prefer, left or right?!
~ Coming to the website on Friday 29th March at 7.30pm ~
Itβs been a month of pure playfulness with my jewellery and I've enjoyed every minute of it! I think for once there isn't a cohesive theme (apart from green obviously) with this collection. I've just made what I've had the urge to make, some things I like a lot more than others, some designs worked in my head but didn't translate well into metal.Β
There's only one of each piece, all entirely one of a kind. The idea is to see what is the most well received and create more pieces in those styles. And ones that sit on the website for months I know I won't be making again!Β
The collection will finally be available online at the end of this month on Friday 29th. It will however be coming along with me to spring market on Thursday 28th first of all. So if you're local to Exeter and have your eye on a piece, come see it in person!
We managed to get a walk on the moors yesterday between the days of rain! Here's one of the bigger onyx pendants that'll be available at the end of the month...
Hands look weird photographed, and the more you look the weirder they become ππΌ
How many makers took advantage of the rare sun appearance today and photographed their makes?! 4 pendants made for this collection so far, I might add more if I don't get massively sidetracked by painting clothes ποΈ
Check out Hey Arnold just chilling on the right looking a little out of place...π
Medeina earrings (thanks for the name ) worn, I love the movement of these ones! There'll be more in the making after half term, I'm planning on some smaller versions too π€
The amount of times I've sliced my fingers with these sharp little saw blades is quite ridiculous... I've no idea why jewellery is my calling when I'm one of the clumsiest people on Earth but there's no going back now!
I'm so excited to share the new collection with you all! I'm making slow progress but it feels like springtime is the perfect release for it πΏ
There's something very satisfying about lining up your creations, especially when they're colour coordinated! I want to keep it all, but I shall resist... Maybe π
