While you may have seen the news that there will no longer be Tomorrow's Ghosts events at the Spa in forthcoming Aprils, Team Not A Democracy are still planning on having our seaside holiday.

Planning to be in town, we are therefore aiming to go ahead with The 80's Night in April 2024 if we can, to see if it's viable without a Spa event.

It's been a nerve-racking time for us too, but we can now announce that, with the help of the staff at the Royal Hotel on West Cliff, we will be once again in a new venue - but one of the few in Whitby with a proper dancefloor as well as a bar - the ballroom of the Royal Hotel!

In order to take place at the hotel, the event will be an especially distilled four-hour version, but on the upside it means it might be possible to get a pizza afterwards and there's a remote possibility that we will just about be able to move on Monday morning without wincing too much. Maybe. (We make no promises!)

This is the first event that The 80s Night crew are promoting entirely ourselves, and is a trial event for both us and the hotel so, please, come along, dance, drink, and have a good time.

Apologies for the lack of an update here for a while. As you will remember, we were intending to be at the-venue-formerly-known-as-RAW
again this time.

Unfortunately, the refit that the new owners have had to carry out for their business use of the venue has meant that it's no longer suitable for The 80s Night, so we recently agreed that we would have to look for another venue.

Wheels are currently turning, and we'll let you know more when they're finalised. Apologies for the lack of concrete update, and thanks again for all of your support.

(In the meantime, feel free to pop into The Crafty Cove for a coffee and some shopping.)

Thank you to everyone who came to The 80s Night (and/or The After Party) on Sunday night at RAW.

We hope that you all had as good a time as we did, and we look forward to seeing you back at RAW in its new incarnation in April - it's all of you who make the night what it is!

As an additional note, some folk who were at some of the Whitby events this last weekend have since tested positive for Covid, which may initially present as a cold, so if you start feeling a bit under the weather, we recommend doing a test.

Just a quick reminder!

RAW is Cashless, so remember to bring phone, card, Apple Watch or another way of making a machine go *boop* in return for entry and/or tasty treats!

However, Bitz n Pizza, and Porto Pizza are both apparently *Cash Only* so you will need some with you for food during or after the events!

As it is a long night, we will be allowing re-entry (up until 2) just make sure you notify a member of doorstaff or myself (Jaye) and we’ll draw on your hand or give you a stamp just so we know when you come back!
