Trying to carve button for the street urchin piece as you can see there are few fails lying around but on the plus side fingers still in one piece.

Some painting and decorating from the weekend not finished yet but we'll on it's way.

I've been adding extra detail to this piece I created originally for the Work on walls exhibition last summer but now it is destined for a more intimate setting.

I carved this as a Christmas for Rif, it's my take on a Kabouter.




Kabouter is the Dutch word for gnome. In Dutch mythology and Dutch folklore, kabouters are tiny men who live underground or else are household spirits helping in the home. They are generally shy of humans. The males have long, full beards and wear tall, pointed red hats.

In the Legend of the Wooden Shoes, an old Dutch folktale, the kabouter teaches the Dutch man how to make wooden shoes.

This piece was rehomed this week.

So it's been a while since I posted there are reasons for that but won't bore you with them.
