We've decided to get back into scheduled batch cooking. The discomfort and downtime caused my allergic reactions just isn't worth the few commercial foods I've tried recently.

I've used up a lot of the meals that we had and replacing them is a top priority beginning in January.

Good morning to everyone who marches to the beat of their own drum. May your rhythms never falter.

Good morning! I hope you have the best day possible.

I normally push myself when I'm sick but this time I've done nothing but rest, drink lemonade and eat apples. That's what sitting on my stomach easiest so that what I'm sticking to.

I've taken the meds I could and allowed my family to leave food and drink outside the door. I tend to get bacterial bronchitis because of my chronic sinusitis, and I don't want to pass it on.

Since Grandchild №1 isn't visiting I've taken over their room and I'm grateful we chose a Cali King bed when we upgraded their room to the Tween stage.

I'm grateful AF for my allergist who is also my immunologist for knowing me as a patient and having an action plan when I get this sick.

I'm easily exhausted at this stage so I'll be headed back to sleep soon.

I don't have Da Vid. Allergic reactions weaken my immunity even as my system goes into hyperdrive in response.

Spaces for children can be chaotic and that can be OK. A good foundation means you can bring it back to organized in a relatively painless fashion.

Helping others is community.

Allergies can mean not being able to take common OTC medicines. The preservatives can make illnesses so much worse.

Poverty is a systemic issue, not just the result of individual decisions and you can not “manifest or repeat money affirmations” your way out of that.

This is a complex topic — I know but we have to move beyond oversimplified narratives. Mindset matters, but let's address the FULL spectrum of challenges individuals encounter – both in their minds and in the systems that shape their financial realities.

Struggling with financial decisions or maintaining a positive mindset about money doesn't change the systemic factors that perpetuate poverty.

By acknowledging this, we avoid placing undue (the keyword here is undue) responsibility on individuals and focus on addressing the broader issues at hand.

Getting sick after an allergic reaction sucks in a mighty way. I really dislike my compromised immune system.

I finally finished this series and decided to share it even though some are late. The information is still good to have and I have a much better idea of how to handle this next year.

With food allergies, even things you've eaten previously can trigger a reaction. Fingers crossed that this is treatable at home.

I realized that I have not been doing my own content enough justice. I’ve made this statement over and over again, throughout the last several years in several pieces of content, and only now do I see it being shared by other creators. Unfortunately, without proper credit. Thankfully, one of the creators sharing it has since given me credit, but I know most won’t. The message to me is to be more bold in my messaging. I need to sharing my content more often. I need to repost and re-share so that folks know my words when they see them. Despite telling one creator that these words belong to me, she is skeptical and has repeatedly asked me to prove when and where I said it first. I’m not going to take on the burden of proving why I should be given what is owed to me.

Regardless of our efforts at our holiday display we know that representation like this isn't often centered or celebrated.

They can keep the winner signs and we'll keep creating holiday extravaganzas with a whole lotta soul.

The way the receipts are eating Lenny's arse up is pleasing. I'm tired of "a taste of Black" folks who want to pick up our culture and labor as conveniences.

We aren't a monolith, but we also aren't Boo Boo the fool. He chose a PR team that didn't prioritize Black engagement. Don't come whining like we didn't show more engagement than was deserved in the first place.

Here is the final version of the main tree this year. I wanted to add all of the crystal and glass decorations, but the no limits soldier known as Grandchild No2 let me know that it wasn't happening.

I haven't put the presents under the tree for the same reason. They are convinced that their creative expressions need to involve my supplies and work I've done already. Case in point, they pushed their table to the mantle in order to grab a pair of my scissors that I left there for a moment.

In spite of the shenanigans I am excited to share love and creativity with my people. I count it as incredible privilege to be able to be so involved in our grandchildren's lives. I'm grateful to be able to host family and friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.

One thing about DaQuan, he will always show up as his authentic self.

He stayed up late helping make things merry and bright so he'll need until tomorrow to get his ish together.
