22mm motors and D2 kits are back in stock!

We've been getting many questions about when the 22mm motors will be back in stock. So, a bit of a long answer. With COVID-19 restrictions easing, it seemed that everyone wanted to get motors to be ready for the new events, rapidly draining the inventory that we had. We put new motors on order with our supplier, but our motors are custom made with custom parts, so they don't just get pulled off the shelf. They have to schedule the production of the custom parts and then the production of the motors. At this point in time, our supplier expects to be able to ship new motors to us mid-September. We realize that's a long time to wait, so...

We have taken apart all our display D2s, one of each color that we used in booths at trade shows, plus a couple more that we had at our facility so that we could make all of those motors available to customers. None of these motors have been used, just sitting on tables and in boxes between shows. Unfortunately, none of these motors have aluminum gearboxes. Most have plastic primary gears in the planetary gearbox, with just a few that have all metal gears. All are equipped with S7 motor shafts.

We are selling these motors via the "Rusty Mystery Box" item in our store. Rest assured, the only "rusty" items are these motors. If the motors have plastic primary gears, we are including a set of steel primary gears, so with a quick rebuild you can have the motor with the current spec steel planetary gears, albeit heavier with the steel planetary gearbox instead of aluminum.
