The Midwest Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine will hold its annual meeting on November 9-10 (Friday-Saturday) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It's an 8-hour drive so we would need to leave on Thursday the 8th.

Cost for the conference is $80, but if 6 or more make the trip, the registration fee drops by $10. The deadline for the reduced rate is October 15th.

This is a great opportunity to meet Exercise Science professionals and other students. Plus - this should be of interest to at least some of you - one of the keynote speakers is presenting a talk on the Female Athlete Triad. Personally, I want to go for that presentation alone.

The conference hotel has rooms for $179, but we can do better than that offsite (can you say Motel 6?). Share rooms (2 to a room) to reduce your cost even further. We can also ask the Student Government Association for some funds (they just granted $1000 for 4 students to go to Dallas for a Sports Marketing conference).

Today we had our first meeting of the semester in PAC 319. We discussed ideas we want to do this semester. The discussion varied from going to sporting events around the Midwest to inviting guest speakers at William Penn University. Also, rumor has it there might PIZZA at the next meeting.
