On June of 2003, exactly 20 years ago, and after five and a half years of continuous, extenuating but fruitful period, I got my PhD from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium... sometimes, I wonder where I would be right now if instead of carrying out my doctoral research at Leuven I did it at Brussels or in Spain where I also got the offer and the financial support for doing it... I had to meditate a lot about it... I guess the fact that I prefer small towns to big cities had a lot to do with my final decision... nevertheless, beautiful Brussels was next in my list....
