Right now it feels as though I’m raising my baby girl, but I know I’m also raising a future woman. What she learns from me in these early years she’ll carry with her when she’s older. So I choose my words carefully. It’s important to speak kindness over not only her, but myself as well. I want her to see me lifting other women up and encouraging them - speaking truths in their ear about their beauty that so clearly starts on the inside and radiates outward. I want to teach her that while makeup, skincare, hair, and playing dress up is fun… it doesn’t make her a “good woman”. I want her to know that her worth is not based on what she sees in the mirror or a number on a scale, but by what’s in her heart, her thoughts and her actions. I want to teach her by example; with love, compassion, and gentle correction. Raising a woman is no easy task, but I know I’ve been given all the tools I need to do the best I can. And one day, when she’s a grown woman and perhaps finds herself raising a baby girl of her own, she’ll remember all I’ve taught her and smile - because in that moment it’ll all make sense and she’ll know the power of the love I have for her.

I struggled with body image for years, but rarely talk about it. Setting a goal to be healthier is great! But don’t put your worth in your size. You bring more to the table than a number on a scale. K?! 😉 Also thanks for the parody song/topic recommendations in stories yesterday! Someone requested “You’re Welcome” from Moana and another requested a song about New Year resolutions… so I combined the two. Thanks for being here you all! 🥰

Car thoughts:

I’m choosing to fully focus on the reason we celebrate this season and will be actively blocking out all the “busy buzzing” of the world trying to steal my joy.

I want to create new Christmas traditions with the kids this year that are quiet, calm, and encourage togetherness. And through each activity, we’ll talk about the story of how our perfect God exemplified pure love and humbleness when He came down to be with his own creation and was laid in a food trough for animals?! 😭 (I’ll never get over that.)

Also, I want to stop saying “you’ve got this” to mothers and INSTEAD start telling them the truth of how they’ll make it through, “HE’S got this. He’s got YOU!”

Thank you for allowing me to share my faith on here as I know not everyone shares it. But it feels too good to keep to myself ❤️
