Let's talk data. The promise of business data is that it helps us engage our customers better, identify market trends, and optimize our operations (among other things). But without clear goals or governance, data can easily become "dirty" - inaccurate, outdated, etc., hidden from view, or even wholly misleading.

Before we can take advantage of our data - say, collect and organize it in Salesforce Data Cloud, analyze it in Tableau, make it actionable on the Salesforce platform, etc. - we need to ensure we've taken the proper steps to make our data is high quality and valuable. The first step is implementing a Data Governance plan.

Data governance activities:
- lead to a shared understanding of how data is managed
- establish ownership and stewardship across stakeholders and team, and
- operationalize a data-driven culture that everyone benefits from.
