The National Rifle Association UK Team is delighted to announce our partnership with Sierra Bullets as our official kit sponsor for our upcoming tour to the Channel Islands in May and June of this year.
For 70 years, Sierra Bullets has been dedicated to the manufacture of the most accurate bullets in the world. Their commitment to performance has established a “tradition of precision”, for which they are known globally. This makes Sierra Bullets the perfect partner for the team as we look to enhance performance on the range by using Sierra Match King bullets during our training and touring. Sierra will provide the reliability and accuracy needed to compete at the level we aspire to achieve. We very much look forward to working with Sierra in the coming months as we prepare to compete in the Channel Islands.
Follow us on our social media for updates on our journey towards competing.

Here is our second team member introduction - our Adjutant Martin Liversage!
🎯Favourite shooting memory?
My favourite shooting memory is a merging together of warm sunny Sunday afternoons at Altcar, the target is 600 yards away and there’s a gentle breeze from the right. Dandelion seeds dance in the air and a light mirage helps me keep the shots in the middle. I’m sharing the firing point with friends and all is well. Going clean in my first Queen’s Final was quite special too.
🎯What are you most looking forward to on tour?
As Adjutant I’m most looking forward to getting all of the team to both islands on the day we are supposed to arrive, and then getting them all home again. Anything else is a bonus.
🎯What’s your New Years Resolution?
Personal Fitness. Tours can be quite challenging physically so I want to be as best prepared as possible.
Thanks Martin!
To kickstart 2024, the team would like to introduce themselves, starting with our Captain - Liam Cheek:
🎯Favourite Shooting Memory:
I’ve got a lot of amazing shooting memories but in the spirit of the NRA tour it has to be shooting and coaching in a Commonwealth Games Pair format with Jimmy Lawrie, on my last NRA tour in 2018 as the reserve pair vs Guernsey. We had a blast on one of the most beautiful ranges in the world, in perfect weather and no shots dropped to wind despite neither of us being experienced coaches at the time.
🎯What are you most looking forward to on tour?
Seeing the team compete at their full potential and returning home with a great group of friends - both new and old, having made some great memories together.
🎯What is your New Years Resolution?
To to live a life less stressful - which doesn’t really go well with work, captaining, Adjing a GB tour and planning a wedding but we’ll see! 😂
Thank you Liam!

~October Training~
October saw our team’s second training weekend, which safe to say enabled us to practise shooting in a wide range of weather conditions - the Saturday in particular allowing (very) wet weather drills! ☔️
The team began the day with a plotting exercise, and then brought this focus to the 200 yard point where we spent the morning focusing on our own personal shooting goals and also team plotting.
We spent the afternoon at 600 yards practising deliberate shooting, being set the task of getting each shot off in under 5 seconds after the coach giving the go on. The weather then gave us the delight of practising our wet weather shooting, but all in all a very productive day on the range!
We finished the weekend at long range, where we worked on our stamina, shooting 2 and 20s. The team shot absolutely brilliantly, and special mentions go to:
💯David, Henry, Matt, Katherine and Michael all scoring 100/100 at 900 yards
💯💯Matt (200.34) and Katherine (200.36) out of a possible 200.40 across both 2 and 20s.
And a third special mention goes to Henry’s 99.19 (leaving him with a spectacular 199.37!!)
Another fantastic training weekend, before heading into the off season, where we will carry on with preparation off camp. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates to come 🎯
We are excited to launch “Brassed for Cash” - a charity fundraising project to raise funds for the 2024 Channel Islands Team and the Down Syndrome Association.
The team’s ethos this year is “Targeting Inclusion in Sports”. We believe that all sports should be made accessible for everyone and for every ability. For this reason, 10% of the revenue that we will generate from this project will go to the Down Syndrome Association “Active program” which facilitates inclusion in sports for children and adults who were born with an extra Chromosome.
❓How can you help?
We would like your used Brass cases, any calibre, quantity, or condition as long as it’s not live. We have distributed bins for the brass around a selection of club houses and armouries at Bisley.
You can also donate your brass to any of our team in-person or contact David directly to arrange a personal collection.
❓Could you do more?
Could you place a collection bin at your local smallbore or full-bore range? We will courier you a bin and posters if you can help.
Please contact the team for more information or to request a bin and posters. Contact us on our Facebook or Instagram page, or contact David directly ([email protected]).
We plan to run this promotion until the end of the imperial meeting 2024 and provide regular updates.
Please help us to financially support a great charity, as well as help fund the NRA CI 2024 Tour.
Thank you for helping us and The Down Syndrome Association!

Thank you in advance for all your support!
A few weeks ago the team had their first training session at Bisley, beginning with a team meet up and briefing, before delving straight into personal goal setting for the year.
Starting off at 300 yards, we began with some team stretching, led by the fabulous Phil, getting the team ready for the busy day of shooting ahead!
Across the weekend, we focused on firing point set up, and smooth transitions between shooters on the point.
We finished off our Saturday at 600 yards, practising speed shooting, after being set the challenge of each completing a 2 and 7 in 90 seconds. The current record to beat is Sophie Ponter and Liam Cheek tied at 75 seconds each!
The evening was then spent getting to know everyone in the team through a combination of a competitive cook off between 2 groups - and watching the Ireland vs South Africa rugby match, which given the Irish influence within the team was a very tense affair indeed 🍀
We finished the weekend shooting at 900 and 1000 yards, consolidating firing point set up and personal goals at long range.
Overall it was a fantastic weekend and a great start to the team’s touring journey!
A big thank you to Theo Dodds for some fantastic shots 📸
