Heading out to Chicago land this coming weekend to take part in Folk Alliance Regional Midwest. Stoked I get to hang out with so many of my musical chums, but also excited to make new ones!

Last show of the year for us… and it was a blinder! We haven’t had much time together recently. I’m just over the virus that Atom just picked up and Pete has had a ton of other stuff to deal with… and maybe that’s the key. We’ve been playing together long enough that we can read each other, so the fun little journey we took tonight through some unusual song choices and the ability to just get lost in them was just what the doctor ordered!

We’re all fighting fit again, and are rolling up to our final gig of the year! You can catch us at our newest venue, 20 minutes west in Maple Plain. This Saturday we play The Iron Exchange. We’ll be synopsizing our journey this year, from the single and video of Revolt, through the acoustic and electronic storytelling of the Jumpstart EP, the wild nights in Celtic bars, the tributes, the covers, and the straight up rock’n’roll in out of the way barns. Should be a good’un.

Tom Dahill will be covering Friday night, and Mac and Cheese Band will be covering Saturday.

1977/8. Me and my cousin Stephen at Christmas. Our granny had just been on a trip to Australia to see our Aunt Meta and this outfit became my favorite. The old photo has changed color a little, but the checkered trousers were also greenish grey. To be honest, I’d still wear that Koala sweater now, if I had one!
I got to hang out with Stephen when I was just recently home. We grew up learning guitar together. He’s now a pretty accomplished songwriter and recording producer/engineer. He also has a pretty cool Northern Irish travel channel on YouTube -

See, here’s the thing… it wasn’t supposed to be like this, BUT…
As it happens, on Friday night, were scheduled to be on just before the Rocket Soul Choir in the Belfast Tent at , so naturally we’re all like “well, if you want to get up and play…. Seeing as you’re already set up…!”
So now, me and Michelle, me and Pete, Pete and Pete, me, Atom and Pete, Michelle and Pete, Atom and Michelle, and every other combination you can think of, will quite simply just be on stage from 4 until 7!! It’ll be a glorious Leslie Rich and the Rocket Soul Hounds of Finn Choir set! You won’t be disappointed… in fact, we pretty much guarantee your Irish citizenship if you go!

A busy weekend at . Friday at 4pm with (minus our dear unfortunately), myself, Atom and Pete will follow at 6pm, all in the Belfast Tent. Then a solo show at the Galway stage 1:15pm on Sunday.

I sure don’t hate sharing songs, but I absolutely adore sharing them surrounded by fantastic songwriters sharing theirs! Can’t wait for this and you should go! One of my favorite things to do is to hear great songs and hear the stories behind them.
No “buts”. It’s free. And it’s at one the best small venues in town!

My favorite recording setup ever was Cubase SX on a home built PC running Windows XP. It was the most stable computer, and the quickest way for me to get an idea realized.
I don’t know why I thought of it today.
I miss that computer.
And I guess I just needed you to know!

It’s not often I get to do this… open for some great Twin Cities bands with just a solo acoustic, and I’m excited! Playing tracks from the new EP and rocking some Rocket Soul Choir tunes also… it’s not quite like opening for Ed Sheeran ( ), but it’ll still be super cool!
