The beauty in simplicity. We frequently make the mistake of overcomplicating things and in that effort, lose the value of a moment. I’m certainly guilty of it. But with weddings like Cameron and Sydney’s, the beauty lies in the simplicity, in the little things. It’s in the handmade cardboard welcome sign and the dried wildflowers picked from the ranch. The moment remains intact.

I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to shoot this wedding. A beautiful day for a one of a kind couple.

Oh the joy of family sessions! A few snapshots of a gorgeous evening here in Morgan Hill with and her beautiful family. On an evening that fell right in the middle of shipping our calves, I was running pretty ragged and worried about being able to give the Delisle family my best effort. But let me tell you, this family made my job so easy! These folks brought the energy and were like a much needed shot of caffeine. I had so much fun photographing this group, they’re the kind every photographer hopes for!

There’s few things I enjoy more as a photographer than when people really make their session their own. Incorporating your hobbies, interests, and four legged friends just takes a grad session to the next level! Wrapping up my run in San Luis Obispo with .thomas_ and her sweet dog Doc exemplified this perfectly!

San Luis Obispo’s fog always keeps me guessing. Sometimes it sets me up for some cool shots and sometimes it completely robs me of that cool golden hour light. While the fog had me stressin’, I need not have worried because rolled with the punches and we were able to make her session work anyway! Cheers to this awesome grad!

There’s a lot of reasons I love this time of year. The wildflowers are out in full force, the grass is coming on strong, and we get massively busy in the cattle business. But most importantly, it’s grad photo season and I get to work with some amazing students about to celebrate a huge milestone. I’m so glad I got to work on these photos with William, a totally fun evening with a great graduate!

When I said in my last post that the location for Grace and Mark’s engagement shoot was one of the most beautiful I’d ever shot in, I wasn’t joking. Those foothill ranch views are something else!

Among oak trees and towering granite rock, some of Earth’s more long standing entities, I had the opportunity to capture Mark and Grace’s engagement photos. Without question one of the most beautiful locations I’ve shot in, with a couple that possesses the same staying elements of both oak and granite. Cheers and ! 🥂

Wildflowers and golden hour make for some of the best senior photos. It’s officially Grad Season and I’m so excited to get to work with this year’s great group of graduates! .2430 is the first grad session I shot this year and I can’t think of a better way to kick off this spring than with a shoot like this one!

In a poor marketing move on my part, I’ve been neglecting to showcase some of the logo and design work I’ve been doing lately! Working with and at to develop their ranch logo and the logo and ad for their stud, MC Metallic Lighting, has been a blast! Not only is it pretty cool to see my design work in action, but as a major sucker for a good vest, you could say I’m pretty stoked!

October 1st has arrived and with it, the 67th Cal Poly Bull Sale in San Luis Obispo! I had the good fortune of being brought in again to do their official catalog and advertisement photos at the beginning of August. Headed down to hopefully snag a few bulls and support the folks down there on sale day!

First time traveling across state lines for a photography gig and it was only fitting that it should be for one of my oldest friends. I’m blessed to have been friends with .heninger since her freshman (my sophomore) year of high school and now I get to be proud of her as she gets ready to graduate from University of Wyoming! So excited for this pretty gal and so happy I got to hang out with her for a whole weekend!

The fun part about posting grad photos of my best friends from high school is I get to toss in throw-back photos for fun. Swipe for a shot from our glory days. ➡️

It’s not every day you get to do a shoot like this and it’s DEFINITELY not every day that the subject is your own sister. We had so much fun putting this senior shoot together and I’m going to be chasing the photographer’s high I got from this afternoon for a long time to come. So proud of my little sister and excited to see what she’ll accomplish in Bozeman at Montana State!

Story time… Long before we were avoiding the fog for his senior photos, I had the good fortune of drawing Jared Mandrell as my Greenhand FFA Officer when I was in my first year on the Sobrato FFA Officer team. He’s a little taller now, has a few more gray hairs, and he learned how to smile with his teeth but he’s more or less the same Boy Scout I met in high school (it’s the more or less that makes me pull my hair out 😂). It’s been a long 8 years of build up to this senior session and Cal Poly is about to lose a good one! BONUS: Swipe to the end to see what Jared looked like when I met him! ➡️

Class of 2023, it’s time to celebrate YOU! I’m opening bookings for this spring and am excited to capture some amazing moments this graduation season.
