Discovering The Three Guyanas 05/11/2020

This one trip ended up being a bigger deal that we thought it would... because we didn't get to go anywhere else this year.

Discovering The Three Guyanas Love discovering less touristed regions? The three Guyanas are tucked up in the north east corner of South America that doesn’t get much attention.

Let's celebrate... think how hard it would be to travel without flight!

Happy National Aviation Day!

Did you know... August 19 is National Aviation Day… a United States national observation that celebrates the development of aviation.

It was established in 1939 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who issued a presidential proclamation which designated the anniversary of Orville Wright's birthday to be National Aviation Day. Sitting US Presidents may proclaim August 19 as National Aviation Day each year, if desired.

Let’s continue catching up…
From Norway we flew to Amsterdam… but we didn’t go into the city. We went to fly on a PBY-5A Catalina. We got to Lelystad in time, but the weather didn’t cooperate… the flights that weekend were cancelled due to winds and wave height….
So we stayed for another week and whiled away our time exploring rural areas of the Netherlands...
And yes, we got that flight!

Photos from MouseToursTravels.com's post 28/08/2017

Time to catch up on what we’ve been doing this summer… Let’s start with Norway… In July, we flew to Bergen and met friends. Can you tell the weather was glorious? After 3 days we took the train to Oslo… Next the train to Trondheim and finally train to Bodø… not there for the midnight sun, but it never got dark. From Bodø we caught the Hurtigruten back to Bergen. We flew on to The Netherlands from there, but we’ll leave that for another post.
