Artistic expression gives one the liberty to make it their own. Whether to incorporate all of the angels or not, the process of layering colors and design elements is entirely up to the one doing the painting. A work in progress.
The painting of the angels and the soothing sound of seminarians' chanting fills the air, accompanied by the sweet perfume of Compline.

We enjoyed giving the Oak Room and most of the lower level of St. Boniface Church a new color scheme over the past several days. Can't wait until others can see it in person!
We brightened up this dining room with Sherwin-Williams Cashmere in low lustre finish. New color is Maison Blanche (SW 7526).
In honor of Georgia O’Keeffe whose birthday was on the 15th. Hers and mine.
Did someone say custom coasters? 🥰
My work is heavily influenced by Mary Cassatt.
In 1872, Mary Cassatt arrived alone in Madrid, fulfilling a cherished dream to study the country's rich artistic traditions. During her extended stay, she began work on four pictures with Spanish subjects that she would produce over the next five months.
In "After the Bullfight," Cassatt depicts a torero in full dress, casually lighting a cigarette in a relaxed moment, his red-silk scarf draped loosely over a wooden support.
Employing vigorous brushwork and rich pigment to describe the costume, Cassatt imbues the work with a modernist sensibility while reflecting her admiration for the Old Masters through a more daring technical style. The bullfighter’s characteristic bravado hints at flirtation with an admirer outside the frame.

What an honor to share my journey.
Living the Regnum Christi Charism Through Sacred Art - Regnum Christi “My art is an extension of my faith, but it wasn’t always that way.” Artist Nancy Jatcko first met Regnum Christi in 1994, when her husband, Jim, accepted a position with the Atlanta Olympic Committee, two years before the city would host the Olympic Games. I just found out about this apostolate, and it is rapidly expanding, with new chapters being established all throughout the country. I am hoping to find a small group of creative souls who would like to share this journey with me. At this retreat, Bill Donaghy, renowned artist and expert from the Theology of the Body institute, will be presenting on the topic of "Theology of the Body" by John Paul II. The featured artists will be available to assist the retreatants as they paint and draw from live models. At the retreat, attendees will experience the creative mastery of Eric Genuis of Concerts for Hope. I can assure you that anything you have ever experienced in your life will pale in comparison to the sensation of Eric. When he speaks, plays the piano, or composes, the audience is left feeling deeply moved. Full board and lodging are included in the price of $300. The use of your own art materials is required.
I appreciate the Catholic Times featuring my artwork in their piece on diocesan artists. That other people appreciate my saintly friends makes me happy. Fr. Jeffrey Goeckner is the one who set this endeavor in motion. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have a pastor who recognized the importance of telling the story of St. Boniface, as well as our beloved Sts. Clare, John Paul II, Cecila, and Venerable Father Augustine Tolton.
