Update on the Flooooof! Loving how this is coming out 👏
I think you have to choose the right pattern for a yarn like this- it is very hard to see your stitches so anything where you need to work into the top of the stitches will be difficult, and that’s too much like hard work to me! So I am going to use a simple granny pattern and use these lovely colours together to make…. Another cardigan - yes I am obsessed.

Doesn’t have to be bright to be beautiful! This is Helen ‘s test of my Jungle Hex bathroom Collection. She has used the following yarn to make her shower mat:
Vera Moda Bamboo cotton in:
Blue (colour a) – 10g approx
Bear (colour b, d & f) 200g approx
Lilac (colour e) 90g approx
Beige (colour g) 100g approx
Katia in Gatsby (colour c) 40g approx
Helen says,
“I really enjoyed making this piece, especially making up a piece that I can actually use and enjoy in my own bathroom. I mixed up colours really easily to make a piece that would suit my current colour scheme – but I loved how easily I could create multiple home decor pieces to suit my changing palette!! I also think this would make a wonderful house warming gift!”
Thank you for testing Helen 👏😍

More tester appreciation for my Sodbury Snuggler scarf - Erica Cole has used colour changing Mandala yarn 🧶 here is what she had to say….
“This pattern was such a joy to test! If you like granny squares you will fall in love with this pattern by . Once you memorize the repeat (body of the project) it’s one you could just keep on going with for hours, the texture the stitches create really make this a very snuggly scarf 🧣. I will be making many more to add to my collection! If you are a beginner in crochet or even at reading patterns this is the one to try 🎉”

What info would you like to see in my Etsy/lovecrafts/ravelry listings? I met a lady at the yarn show and she said ‘that looks too difficult for me’ but when I explained it was standard stitches and that the pattern grew each round like a granny square does, she was happy to give it a try. I have also designed this star so that there are no skipped stitches too which can trip up beginners, and no holes for tiny fingers and toes to get stuck in. 😁 i can talk about crochet all day- which I did at the yarn show -but not sure this will work well with an Etsy listing 😂
Progress! Here is an update on my hexi cardi design that I am making for the Hobbii Natural beauty challenge. I thought I would also show you the picture that inspired this colour choice and how this yarn blends them so beautifully.
I am using Colorina yarn in Amazonas (10) 💚

Tester appreciation time! Christina tested my Sodbury Snuggler Scarf, she says:
“The pattern was fun and easy, no issues with it, it worked fast. Keeping the same repeats as the pattern, I got the same measurements and then I decided to add more rows to make it longer. I used a Czech yarn, it is in the pictures, for the measurements of the pattern I used a skein plus ¼. For the total measurements I decided to go, I used 2 skeins.”
Yarn: Vlna-hep Waltz in 5704 Vintage Pink
Thanks so much Christina 👏🤩👏

I have always liked yarn and materials and was always making things as a child. I have been a DT teacher and a highways engineer but my creativity and excitement about designing has really been reinvigorated by being able to create my own designs in crochet.
What started as my relaxation and therapy time, crochet has allowed me to get excited and fired up about designing and making which I have not been able to do since I have been a grown-up!
I’m a Bristol girl now living happily in Leeds 🇬🇧
Have a look at #melucrochet on Instagram for some inspiration 😊
