It’s been getting a bit cooler and I’m noticing my skin is starting to feel more dry and dull 😭. In todays night routine I’m going to add some very moisturizing products to help with my dry skin.

Products:
🤍 cream skin really helps with my dehydrated skin and deeply moisturizes.

🤍I’m using The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to help with my dull looking skin.

🤍I’m trying out a sample of the  Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides. Im really enjoying this super rich cream. Its not overly greasy but definitely deeply moisturizes my skin.

🤍I have been using the Cicabio cream  for any dry patches on my face and body. Its really thick and repairing.

🤍 Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is nice and hydrating. Really thick so it gives my under eyes a nice glow!

✨Facial Oils✨

I really like using facial oils to soften my skin but I don’t depend on oils to provide lasting hydrations for my dehydrated skin.

Do you like facial oils? What are some of your favourites? 💕

✨ The Ordinary 100% Organic Virgin Chia Seed Oil:
Chia seed oil is great for smoothing and nourishing the skin. It is a great source of fatty-acids to strengthen the skin.
It has a really thick texture so it makes my skin very glowy. I like using this at night on days when my skin feels really dry and I mix it in with my moisturizer. It does have a strange scent but it doesn’t last too long. I have been enjoying this and will be using it up but I don’t think I would repurchase because I prefer other oils such as the squalene oil over this one.

✨ The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil: Moroccan Argan oil helps to moisturize and strengthen  the skin and hair. The texture of this oil is lighter than the chia seed oil and it also has a strange scent that doesn’t linger for too long.
I like mixing this with my moisturizer and found that it really moisturizes my skin without feeling overly greasy.
I also really like it in my hair as it adds a nice shine. I would repurchase this oil because I really like the look it gives my hair and I do enjoy it on my skin too.

🤍 How stunning is this palette! The shimmer shades are amazing. They add the prettiest pop of glitter on the eyes. ✨

Just got the new Tatcha The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser! 💜💜

My first impression is that its a very nice and rich cleanser. It is very gentle and doesn’t strip my skin. This has a nice lather and doesn’t dry my skin out so I think I will really love this for the upcoming fall and winter months.

Happy September!🌻 I can’t believe that it’s already September and fall is right around the corner. 🍂🍁I’m sad that summer is ending but I’m also excited for fall. It’s my favourite time of year!

Some skincare products that I’ve been using lately. 💕

Do you prefer having a simple skincare routine or are you a 10 step type of person? ✨

Personally, I prefer using more simple routines but switching up products depending on what my skin needs.

Ever since I’ve been home more I’m trying to take care of my hair more! My hair has been so damaged from straightening it almost every day pre-quarantine 😅

🤍I’m not straightening my hair as much right now so I wanted to try Olaplex products to see if they can repair the damage on my thick-wavy hair.

Mini review:

🤍 No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Crème: I use this product on wet hair and it makes really smooth and shiny. I also really like the smell of this product! It has a nice creamy texture that doesn’t make my hair feel greasy and doesn’t weigh it down!

🤍 Hair Perfector No. 3: I use this on damp hair before I wash my hair. I love this product so much! It really makes the hair so soft and reduces the amount of splits ends I have! My hair feels so healthy and shiny after using this!

Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water ✨

✨Madelic acid is a form of AHA that has a bigger molecule making it more gentle on the skin than other AHA’s such as glycolic acid. Madelic acid comes from bitter almonds and is used to exfoliate the skin.

✨AHAs are water soluble so theyre great to exfoliate the top layer of the skin. Madelic acid helps with skin turnover, getting rid of dead skins cells and helping to brighten up the skin. Madelic acid is also great for acne as it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

✨I’ve really been enjoying this toner 1-2 times a week to exfoliate my skin! It helps get rid of dead skin cells and brighten my complexion. Its very gentle but I still like using it 1-2 times a week to avoid irritation from over-exfoliating.

What have you been loving during the month of August? 💚

💚 Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner is lightweight but still very hydrating! It contains bergamot and sage to help soothe and hydrating the skin! I love using this in my routine to make my skin look more plump and supple.

💚 The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% is great for brightening up my complexion. It has a more oily texture that feels warm on the skin so I prefer using this serum at night. I noticed that my skin overall is really bright when I am consistent with using this.

💚 Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream has become one of my favourite summer moisturizers! Its lightweight but still is a great occlusive. Makes my skin really bright and glowy!

Morning routine!

What’s a staple in your morning routine? 🦋

🦋 Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence has glycolic acid, white peony and grape water to help brighten and hydrate the skin. I noticed that this helps with my skin texture and makes my skin glowy!

🦋 Hydrating Bamboo Ampoule is very hydrating! It has 80% bamboo water which helps deeply hydrate the skin and has ceramides to strengthen the skin and retain moisture. I have really been enjoying this as a daily serum and have not noticed any breakouts or irritation.

🦋 Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream is great for the summer time! I really love it as a day cream for my super dehydrated skin.

🦋Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is one of my favourite sunscreens! Really light weight but hydrating and no white cast!

Lip Oil Glow ✨🤍

✨ This lip oil is so glossy and hydrating. It also lasts a really long time throughout the day. The shade doesn’t really show up on my lips but I still love wearing it on its own or on top of lipstick for some extra glow. It also smells amazing like raspberry candy!

✨ Lip Glow Oil in Berry feels amazing on the lips. Super hydrating and adds a great shine on the lips. This shade adds a subtle berry tint on my medium skin tone. I love wearing it on its own or over top of a lip liner/ lipstick.

💕 Reset Charcoal Detoxifying Scalp Cleansing Oil- Love this product for a weekly double cleanse to get rid of build up in the scalp. It has Pink Clay and charcoal to help purify and has sea buckthorn to help replenish the scalp.

💕 Reset Exfoliating Jelly Scalp Scrub- Is a great exfoliator!! It has ingredients such as sea salt, pink clay and charcoal to exfoliate and purify the scalp. The sea salt feels nice on the scalp as it doesn’t scratch and irritate it. Helps with flaky scalp and works great with the oil cleanser to help get a deep cleanse.

💕 After using both products together, my scalp feels so refreshed and regenerated!

💜 Skin Renewing Cream Serum is a very gentle retinol. It has hyaluronic acid, ceramides and niacinamide to help soothe the skin and has encapsulated retinol to reduce appearance of wrinkles without causing any irritation. It’s more of a creamy texture but I still like following up with a moisturizer since its not thick enough for my dryer areas. I didn’t experience any peeling or extreme dryness with this retinol however it does have a slight alcohol scent. I’ve been using it for about a month now, around twice a week, and haven’t noticed any big differences yet. I still want to see if this makes a difference on the wrinkles on my forehead and neck so I will continue using it!

💜 Cicabio Cream is great for sensitive and dry skin. It has a really thick texture and has no fragrance. This has become my new favourite cica baume as it really helps with sensitive areas and dry patches all over the body! Unlike the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume, it doesn’t have leave a white film on the skin which I appreciate as someone with a medium skin tone. Overall really great at repairing and healing skin barrier!

💜 Silk Canvas Protective Primer primer helps to blur out the skin and makes the skin feel smooth! My foundation looks flawless and even on top of this primer. A little goes a long way with this primer so even though it’s expensive, it will last very long.

Some products that I emptied this month and a mini review of each of them!! 💚

Whats a recent empty of yours?

💚 Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence was really thick essence that helped hydrate my skin. I didn’t see much of a difference with my acne scars, but it softened and plumped my skin. It was an overall good product that improved the way my skin looked!

💚 green level centella buffet serum has become one of my favourite serums! It was so good at hydrating and repairing the skin. The texture is nice and hydrating but it absorbs into the skin really well. I noticed that this soothed my skin and overall my skin just felt healthier. Will definately be repurchasing!

💚 Hello, Calm mask contains cannabis sativa seed oil which is an antioxident that helps to soothe the skin. Although I didn’t find this mask to be super moisturizing, it really calmed and soothed my skin. I was able to use this on my most sensitive days without any irritation.

💚 Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is one of my favourite sunscreens. This is a really gentle and moisturizing sunscreen. I think this would be a great winter sunscreen! It is a chemical sunscreen so there is no white cast and is SPF 50 PA +++. It is very hydrating so I would reccomend for dry skin.

💚 Time is Running Out mist is a toner and oil blend that helps to deeply hydrate the skin. I really liked using this in my morning routine for my toner and serum step which really helped me cut down on steps. I did not find this product to be greasy or sticky but it still gave a really nice glow!

My favourite mascaras 🦋

What’s your favourite mascara? Any drugstore reccomedation?

🦋 Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara- This mascara is amazing for lengthening my lashes. It does a great job at separating my lashes and giving them a nice curl. This mascara doesn’t give too much volume so I sometimes layer a volumizing mascara on top.

🦋 Better Than S*x Mascara- I love using this mascara when I am going for a more dramatic look. It makes my lashes look like I have falsies on. It adds so much volume to my lashes. It can get a bit clumpy sometimes so I have to be careful. If that happens I just go over with a clean spooly brush and it gets rid of the clumps.

🦋 They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara- This one if my favourite because it lengthens and adds lots of volume. It separates all my lashes really nicely to give that feathered look.

💙 Madecassoside Ampoule: I love this serum for daily use. It’s super gentle so I use it on even my most sensitive days! It’s very calming and hydrating.
