It was totally uplifting to talk to so many visitors who were really into the art. And it was validating to make some sales!!! Thanks to everyone who attended. We will definitely do it again!
My friend, and author, Melissa Yi Yuan-Innes has launched a Kickstarter for her latest book. And she’s featuring my ‘message in a bottle’ item as an add-on for her backers, woot woot!
So pledge as little as $1 to support a local author, and you can also get yourself a message in a bottle in a special, limited edition colour (matching the book cover) only available through her Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/melissayi/red-rock?ref=9cq66e
(Note: I need to get a photo of the new message scroll colour actually in the bottle, but for now the star design in my hand will have to stand in…)

Mini plant sale April 27 and 28 in Lancaster, ON. Yes, I do have too many plants. But you can help me with that! I'll be selling a few beauties at our Spring art show and mini plant sale "GARDENERS OF THE GALAXY" at Cherry Bomb Studio this weekend.
I'll have plants that don't need a ton of watering: (Jade, African Milk Tree, Cactus and Spider plants). One beautiful Anthurium (see red flower) split off from a very vigorous parent plant.
Speaking of African Milk Tree plants, these will grow as tall as your ceiling. Mine is 8 feet tall and still growing. Over 20 years, it will eventually fill a corner of a room, floor to ceiling.
It's a mini plant sale, but there are some interesting offerings! We'd love to see you there. You need an invite to attend, but all you have to do is ask!
Send me a DM or comment below and I’ll send you the address and show times. I’d love to see you there.DM or comment below and I’ll send you the address and show times. I’d love to see you there.

If you're in Toronto, you can catch the opening Feb 2nd from 6-8pm. The show continues until Feb 17th. Stop by and say 'hi' to gallerist Leah Oates, who is awesome. So cool that my work gets to travel, even when I can't go.😊

Happy flower shoes, now available in the Pin and Blossom web shop! I wear mine with a dress, whenver heels would be appropriate because I. do. not. wear. high. heels. 👠👎 Bonus happiness when you pair the hi-tops with yellow pants! 💛💙💛 Thanks to Hayley of for her photos, and for styling and modelling our shoes with such flair.
Spent some good time talking ‘shop’ this weekend with of Cherry bomb studio in Lancaster.
Local artists! This woman is one to watch. If she invites you to show in her space, I recommend you accept. She is one of those rare artists who has business sense _for_days_. You will learn a lot from how she runs a show.
Also she has a Frank Ghery on loan in the space and can hook you up if that’s the piece you’re searching for.
Fun fact: Sara and I first met because our lockers were beside each other at good ol’ GDHS in Alexandria, ON. She was gracious enough to let this new girl sit at her lunch table. Fun times! Thank god you only have to do high school once.
Cyanotype silk scarf in one of my most popular designs: Parapluie.
I use dried, pressed flowers that I harvest locally to make my scarves, but even with repeated use, each scarf ends up being unique.
The cyanotype sensitized fabric reacts differently to the qualities of light at the time of exposure: a sunny day will produce a deeper blue than a cloudy day. And the time of day also matters. Light at 4pm is not the same as 11am.
The cyanotype solution I prepare is the same 'recipe' each time, but like all analogue processes, it's never exactly the same.
And then there's the silk. I use super soft habotai silk, but because it's a natural fibre, there are variations from batch to batch.
All of this results in scarves that are one-of-a-kind, comfortable to wear, and easy to style with many outfits.
Visit my website to shop available scarves until June 3rd: https://www.pinandblossom.com/scarves
After that, they'll be at the garden party near Vankleek Hill, ON on June 4th, and then they'll be available at in Hawkesbury.
There are only 7 left and there won't be another batch made until summer of 2024!

Cyanotype wall hangings: Poppies (top, cyanotype on cotton & chiffon) Clovers & raindrops (bottom, cyanotype on cotton).
I’m not sure exactly how to display these and my other wall hangings in my outdoor booth at the garden party but I’m going to figure something out!
More Vernissage photos! Also at Cline House Gallery Gallery, I met the incomparable Miss Joa, who struck a pose in front of my work wearing a fabulous vintage outfit.

Flashback to two weeks ago when a bajillion asian lady beetles filled the air and swarmed our house inside and out. Every year when the farmers harvest the soy, these beetles go searching for somewhere else to live...
Working shots of my basement cyanotype dipping studio. Apparently it looks like a horror movie set down there. Good thing I don't watch horror movies. I'm happy to be dipping scarves in cyanotype solution in the dark. I can't believe this is my first batch of scarves since 2016! Where has the time gone…
On sale! Teardrop pendant. Click on photo for more details or to purchase. All jewellery is 50% off at pinandblossom.com
This week, we're doing a throwback photo to a cyanotype I exposed in spring 2021.
I'm embellishing this piece with some hand stitching with very thin gold thread. Hoping to have it finished in time for my March show at next year.
Today we're featuring a Pin and Blossom product from start to finish: the Lily of the Valley pendant in fine silver PMC (Precious Metal Clay).
What the heck is PMC? How do we go from a drawing to a finished silver pendant? Head over to our website (link in bio) to find out more!
This lovely pendant is on sale at 50% off, and it plus a few others are available in our online shop. Find them at PinandBlossom.com
Once monthly, here at , we feature other artists on our socials, and this month we have a two-for-one situation:
First: I'm really enjoying my subscription to Uppercase magazine, published by Janine Vangool. Described as "The quarterly magazine for the creative and curious," you can check it out at uppercasemagazine.com
Second: I absolutely love the cover art for issue 53 by artist Katherine Watson. Check out to see more of her beautiful works!
Our indoor cat, Abbie, broke her leg last month! She likes to climb onto the cupboard on top of the fridge, and hang out on some boxes we store up there.
We think she lost her footing and hit her leg on a nearby shelf on the way down. She is doing very well, but her little x-rays are at once horrifying and somehow cute at the same time...
