Insomniac Treasures
Jewelry, art and decor with a rustic, vintage flair that feels like found treasure.
Over the years, I have tried my hand at drafting, fine furniture, resin casting, sewing, jewelry making, wind chimes and all manner of crafty things. I concentrate on jewelry here, with a side of windchimes, but sometimes other items pop in for a visit. Insomniac Treasures is where I share the results of my sparks of inspiration. It all grows from people and their stories, nature and the world in
Put it on your calendar. Come out to Julian for the Music Festival and find me at the vendor fair.
Another painted jacket in progress. Pale pink & XL with a bit of stretch. The butterfly is finished but I'm still mulling over additional embellishments. Thinking that upper section needs some color.
Work in progress...mulling over what fun details to add next. I'm thinking about adding some zentangle accents and maybe a short poem. (Size Medium)
Come get some new jewelry, a windchime, or even a painted jacket from me at one of these June events:
June 22 - Shelter Island Art Show
June 29 - Julian Music Festival
Not local or can't get out to see me? Website is coming soon!
Played around with a little stained glass this past weekend. Think I'll add a few more things and turn these into sun catchers.
Weather permitting, the Shelter Island Art Show is happening on Saturday, April 27th from 10-3. Come out and see what's new and support local artists! Cheers!
Silk beaded bangles and matching earrings.
Moved a dresser and look what I found this morning. Three necklaces made from vintage jewelry...for Easter/spring. Perfect timing? LOL
If you want one of these let me know and I'll make you a deal. ;)
...and a new turquoise bracelet is born. Set in fine silver with a frilled copper back.
Currently mulling over what necklace will accompany this new labradorite pendant. Thinking beaded with labradorite and quartz or maybe gray pearls and a bit of moonstone. Feels like it needs more than a silver chain. Hmmm...
Hmmm...scalloped edge or straight edge?
These celestine stones found me last week and I was compelled to make this pendant right away. It feels like someone needs it? Is that you?
I don't always get these feelings, but when it happens I try to just go with the flow. Hoping it makes that connection soon!
Happy Monday!
Today's creations...lovely mixed metals & turquoise.
Isn't spiderweb turquoise so pretty?! Set in fine silver on a copper bracelet.
Love those scalloped edges. I'll have them with me at Shelter Island this weekend...barring rain and excessive wind.
Contrasting finishes to give that rustic elegant vibe.
Tonight I'm out at Christmas on Mt. Helix Returns. If you're not here yet, you just might be missing an amazing sunset.
Where I'll be on Saturday. Come on out and enjoy some Christmas cheer!
Tomorrow! I'll be set up right by the 7th Ave exit gate. Come on by.
Painted jacket progress. It's...done? Resisting the urge to over embellish. The struggle is real. Lol
When at a show...make new things, right?! Spirit quartz, jade, pietersite. Finished in Sterling silver.

About I. T.
I love to reimagine...think of a different way to use old and new materials alike. Most days it is rough and rustic, but sometimes I just feel like sparkle and shine, so there is a bit of that too.
Why “Insomniac Treasures” for a name? Long story short...I love outdoorsy activities and sometimes my body revolts. In those times, art is my refuge. During one particularly significant/extended episode, a LOT of art (jewelry) happened when I couldn’t sleep. It turned into a business in 2013.
I so appreciate all of you who have supported it’s evolution over the years. Making things that get to be part of your style sounds like a good gig to me.
