Dammit Boy BBQ

I guess I need to start working on my Smoked Brisket Candle. Might even do a cologne for men to smell like you bbq, a blend of oak and mesquite smoke. This might do well for all my pellet smoker buddies. 😎

BBQ provided to your schedule. Eat these bad boys on your next weekend trip or feed kids at home for the summer. Either way, we got you. 😎

First and foremost I want to thank God for putting me in such position. We raised $7,000 towards the Christian Warrior Retreat!!!!!!!!! Our goal was to raise $6,000 to fund one whole retreat and we surpassed that.

Next, I would like to thank Pedro, Joe, Aaron, Rey, and Chris who were the men that sparked this idea. It’s too easy to sit back and complain of what’s going on in this world. These men stepped up to the plate to take action within there own community. We all come from different backgrounds with nothing given and everything earned. Our mission is to give back to our communities and we are just getting started. This was one step towards the greater good.

Now let’s be honest... BBQ may not fix the problems of this world, but it’s a start. So many people expressed there gratitude on how “normal” Saturday felt to them. That spoke volumes to me. Friendships were made and family and friends gathered. Everyone came to the table to break bread and enjoy some Texas BBQ in support of our Nations’s veterans and families.

I want to give a special THANK YOU to my beautiful wife who supported my time to help put this together, and believed in our mission.

As my brother Robert Mercado shared a personal story with me while we were cooking one thing he said will always stick with me. “It is a privilege to have a first row seat at what God is possible of doing in your life”. This weekend was definitely one of those experiences.

I know it may be tough to reheat, but we have a few 3lb brisket vacuum sealed packages available for purchase. HEB lines are long and drive thru waits are over an hour (personal experience 🤦🏽‍♂️).

Also, I will be lighting 🔥 up the pit tomorrow morning. If you have any meats to smoke, just bring them by if you have the means to do so. I can season and cook for you. Offering any help anyway we can. Stay warm and stay safe.
