Cuca represents many of the women producers who are currently advancing mezcal culture by creating exceptional artisanal spirits. She is a very young but well-experienced maestra mezcalera and she leads the production at the Palenque that her family owns, where she learned most of what she knows about mezcal production from her father, starting at a young age.

Cuca, we want to say, THANK YOU so much for this collaboration! It is very meaningful for us to bring the New Moon (and some other moons) into our mezcal community in Europe.

We honor the moon and its lunar cycles, the balance of nature and traditions and that’s why we also honor Mayahuel, (from Nahuatl: Meyehual (Meyewal) ‘she who surrounds the maguey or agave’; ‘metl, maguey; yehualli, round’), the Mexica goddess of the maguey, and by extension, of drunkenness.

We celebrate today's Full Moon presenting our 2nd Full Moon (Pechuga) batch, an artisanal triple distillate that infuses a variety of regional fruits, almond, peanut, anis and Pechuga de pavo (turkey breast) into its abundant flavour bouquet. 

Eclipses, long revered in ancient cultures, hold significance beyond their astronomical spectacle. Interpreted as omens or divine symbols, they shape beliefs and practices across civilizations, spanning religious, cultural, and political realms.

Indeed, eclipses command respect and admiration as potent events in nature. We follow the moon during its celestial journey and encounters and we pay homage to its endless path.

A typical way to consume mezcal is with worm salt. Why worm salt? In reality, alternating it with this drink does not alter or improve the flavor.; What it does is make the sip is lighter on the palate, so it is recommended for those who drink mezcal for the first time.

Take a journey back in time with every sip of our mezcales tradicionales, made using traditional methods passed down through generations! means true craftmanship, no modern equipment and producing small batches in harmony with nature 🌅🌵

Clay pots are used to make some of the most traditional type of mezcal, called mezcal ancestral.

It is also one of the more strictly regulated categories of mezcal production, which must follow the traditional artisanal production process of hundreds of years ago.

For example, both the fermentation and distillation can take place in clay pots. This results in great earthy and mineral notes in the spirit.
