When we’re first starting out with the whole video thing, feeling confident on camera is pretty much non-existent because it can be super scary to be in front of the video camera! Why? Because at first the camera looks like a scary monster! Which means…we look like a deer in headlights. 😳 In fact, I’ve heard it said that it’s even more uncomfortable than seeing an ex-boyfriend…with their hot new wife…and perfect looking baby.
But, you know what? With my CRUISE technique, that camera can transform from a monster (or a bad ex-boyfriend) to our BEST friend!

Sometimes we have those days when creative ideas don't flow. So, to help you out, here are 5 ways to get out of a creative rut!
🔅DESTRESS
When we're stressed out, our brain produces a stress hormone called cortisol. When this happens, our brain is not able to think freely.
So how do you destress? Research says to watch a lighthearted or funny movie! Yuppers! There’s your good excuse to lounge on your couch and turn on a movie. ;)
🔅GET AWAY
Yes! Get away from the day-to-day grind and do something different. Maybe it's going away on a weekend getaway. Or maybe it's just going out on a Saturday night and watching a show or going to the symphony. This will spark new life!
🔅BROWSE FOR IDEAS
One example of this is to go on Pinterest. Look up titles to blogs of other online business owners that you really like then switch up the title so that it’s in your niche.
Of course, there's also AI—artificial intelligence. For example, you can go to ChatGPT and type in, "give me five content creation ideas on (insert your topic)." And then immediately, it'll give you five content creation ideas. It's pretty crazy!
🔅PLAN AHEAD
Try to record a couple of videos in one setting or create a bunch of Instagram posts in one setting. That way, you have your content set for the next couple weeks or the next month. You'll always be one step ahead of the game!
Another way to plan ahead is to simply get out your laptop at your favorite coffee shop while sipping on your favorite latte. Then have a relaxed and enjoyable time creating content while you're there.
🔅HAVE A RETREAT
You can do this by perhaps renting an AirBnB for a couple days. That way you can stay focused in a nice place while you create content for your business.
You can also go to a conference and get inspired and motivated there.
But don't forget about virtural retreats! I LOVE the virtual retreats that @amberhousley puts on. She has these every quarter and they’re AMAZING!

✨Stabilization: You will need something to hold your phone still and at the right position like a tripod and a phone adaptor

✨Simplify your background: Don’t have a messy background behind you.That way, YOU are the main focus.

✨Lighting: You can use a ring light, soft box, or even a window! Just make sure you're in indirect sunlight. This will make the lighting softer on your face which is super flattering.

I think our Christmas tree is getting us in the "reading spirit" cause it's been so nice to sit and read next to it! lol The boys even made a fort and have their special space right next to the twinkling lights and ornaments.
I'm currently reading Profit First. I have to admit, when I first heard about it, I thought the title was pretty obvious on what you should do as a biz owner. Now that I'm actually reading it...wow, so much detailed goodness!! This is a must read for all biz owners, for sure!!
