This Just In.... our concession stand will be set up at LaRues Produce on rt 706 between montrose and Lawton on July 19th and 20th! Maple milk shakes and the finest local grown produce and beef in the area! For our southern tear new york followers its an easy trip... ny 26/pa 267 South to Lawton pa ( stone castle gas station) turn left on 706 and go about 3 miles until you see the lovely Produce stand and our concession stand! If you've never been to LaRues you have no idea what a treasure you are missing!

Hello folks. We have some inventory to reduce! I just finished packaging maple sugar, cinnamon sugar and maple seasoning for fair season. I don't have enough of these spice jars for the next go round and need to order more, however.... I would like to change to a diffrent size jar so I thought I would offer these unused 4oz plastic spice jars to you. In the photo you see are red caps with out liners. They are $6.75 / 12 jar and lid.

Randy and I would like to say Thank you to all that have helped us with our open houses Over the last 27 years. we have also enjoyed all of our many visitors!

We have decided that this was our last annual open house. It is time for a change, so we are going to put our thinking caps On to come up with something new and different to keep you coming back.

What's Happening at our open house on March 16th? Fiber arts demonstrations Dave drives in from several hours away to do demos for you! What will he be doing? I leave it up to him.. weaving, knitting, bobbin lace, spinning... he can do it all! Martha will also be here spinning. Martha is local and if you want to learn to spin Martha can get you hooked up with the local spinning guiled! This is taking place in our fiber mill!

What happens during our open house... The Springville Methodist church will host a Breakfast from 7am to 1pm with our maple syrup for you pancakes... it is a free will donation! Keep in mind it is at the church!

What is happiness at our open house March 16th? Cooks cheese. Connie has been selling cheese for ever I think.. I Remember seeing her with her dad at fairs so long ago... she has continued on... she knows her cheese!

We have a Husband and wife team..also our next door neighbors. Eric Buffington will be set up with his pottery wheel showing how to sling some mud...and probably some joke! You decide weather the jokes are good or bad? Oh the pottery is good! Marybeth Buffington "Impact Chocolate" what is special about this well a lot of chocolate place get wafers melt them down into what they make...not Marybeth... she kicked it up a notch and starts with the cocoa bean or pod.. not sure what they are called but I am sure She knows!

What is happening at our open house March 16th? Randy Loch will be doing tours in the Sap house with his side Kick from Clark's Maple Jordan Clark. They are a fun duo to be around! Did you know this is Randys 43rd year making Maple Syrup!

Kevin (father) does Chain saw carving. Logan (son) is Black smith (Logan is on track to graduate from Johnson Collage this spring..so you say....he is doing that Right before he graduates from HIGH SCHOOL)

Well Thanks to the high winds today... Randy has made the difficult decision to call an end to our 2024 sugaring season. Weather outlook isn't optimal for more production, trees are budding and it is far to hard on the vacuum pumps to run with all the damage done in the woods by the wind. Don't worry open house is still on for Saturday!

This Saturday March 16th is our 27th annul maple open house! 27 years! Wow the changes that Have occured in our Farm, our production, our lives. The countless People we have taught about maple syrup... The Friends that we have made... The amount we have learned... 43 years of making syrup here at Lochs with new additions for production every year... we are not Just about Syrup for your pancakes so many products added over the years. Today was national Peanut butter lovers day....I spent the afternoon making a big batch of Lochs Maple Pranut butter!

March 1st.. that means 15 days until open house 2024! March 16th 10am to 4 pm. Free parking, free tours, free demonstrations, breakfast at Springville united Methodist church 7am to 1p. Free will donation. Our concession stand will be open with maple milkshakes, sundaes and maple hot dogs! Our store will be stocked with all our maple goodies.... syrup, candy, sugar, coffee, caramel corn, nuts, fudge....... spread the word... good time will be had by all!

Work is underway getting ready for open house! March 16th!

With the temps dropping due to the impending storm..the sap flow is freezing up. Randy is using the time wisely! We were running out of room in sap house. Any sugar maker will tell you no matter how big you build your sap house it is never big enough!

I'd like to introduce you to our newest helper with syrup making. Our friend and fellow maple producer gave him a very good referral! He likes to be called Duck... and makes us want to sing "Rubber ducky your the one you make SAP time lots of fun." His job is to assist in monitoring the sap level in a tank about 8 miles from the sap house. If he works out he will save Randy lots of millage and sleep! If he works out as planned Duck and his friend Blink will be a permanent addition to our team. Please see his picture in the comments! And help us make him feel welcome !

Good afternoon. Incase you have ever wondered why during syrup season our weekday store hours are by chance or appointment.......yesterday one of the pumps on one of the R/Os went down. Unlike in Vermont where there are maple equipment stores within an hours drive of most maple producers..... we either have to go 3 hrs west (yes 1 way) or 7+ hours (yes 1 way) north to get parts needed for repairs. Not having commited weekday hours leaves me free to make the parts Trip, so Randy can stay back and get the broken torn apart and ready for the new parts to fix it! When mother nature only gives you roughly 20 to 25 days a year to make your syrup.... it is important to get back up and going as fast as possible. When needed I also make these runs for our loyal equipment customers, if they have break downs.... one of the perks of buying your sugaring equipment through us directly.
