We are what we eat. Check your refrigerator, cupboards, pantry’s and take inventory of what you’re putting in your body.

I used to do kitchen bootcamps where I would come in and go through all the kitchen and throw away the junk then go shop with my client and restock their area. It made a huge difference as I spent the entire day teaching them how to cook easy healthy meals and more.

Today.. go do inventory on your kitchen. Is it full of what will propel you to your goals or derail your goals?

Healing doesn’t stop because the holidays are upon us, sometimes the holidays really bring out the unhealed versions of ourselves. Be kind to yourself and give yourself grace to “sit with it” and remember healing happens by feeling… whatever that feeling may be. The best gift to give yourself is healing. ✨✨✨🩷🩷🩷

When & What was your last WIN? 🏆

What was your last WIN? It could be a sport, your career, your relationships, or small day to day accomplishments. Whether big or small, how do you celebrate your wins?

I was in my first pickleball tournament this past weekend and it was super fun, nerve wrecking and definitely brought out my competitiveness. My partner and I were playing great yet fought our way to win the GOLD in our last game. We were behind by the score of 4-10 and point by point we made a comeback winning the game by 15-13!! Never give up... it's not over until it's over!

Here are some of my lessons learned from pickleball that apply in life:
1️⃣Practice Patience… wait for the right shot to speed up the game & life!
2️⃣Stay humble… one shot you’re amazing and your next shot is trash. Humble is a beautiful place to be.. always working on becoming your best.
3️⃣Stay focused/be present.. keep your head in the game and your eye on the ball.
4️⃣Shake off your last mistake... don't take it with you into you're next shot. That was the past and you're playing in the present. Have the awareness of noticing what you need to improve upon and learn from it.
5️⃣Consistency & Commitment… keep showing up & keep playing the game. Don't allow a bad game or a bad day to take you off track.
6️⃣Sportsmanship... Be a good sport! Give your opponents credit and respect and learn from those at a higher level than you. You will grow & improve greatly.
7️⃣Have fun & Enjoy the game.. Remember to have fun, laugh at yourself, and acknowledge your improvements and achievements. Meet new people and make new friends.. one of the best parts!
8️⃣MINDSET: Before, during and after the game.. talk positively to yourself, have an affirming statement for yourself to keep your mind on the up and up.
9️⃣Play and drill... meaning play the game but don't forget to make time for practicing your skills and freshening up on your weak areas.
🔟Communication: You must communicate with your partner for the best positive outcome and a good partner relationship.

So many fun, exhilarating and humbling experiences in pickleball and life!

Need a high protein recipe that would be great for post-workout?!

Try this!

Grilled Chicken Salad

Ingredients:

• 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

• 4 cups mixed greens

• 1/2 cucumber, sliced

• 1/2 avocado, diced

• 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced

• 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

• 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

• 2 tablespoons olive oil

• 2 tablespoons lemon juice

• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

3. Grill chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

4. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice into strips.

5. In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, cucumber, avocado, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese.

6. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

7. Pour dressing over salad and toss to combine.

8. Divide salad onto plates and top with grilled chicken strips.

This salad is packed with protein from the grilled chicken, and also includes healthy fats from the avocado and olive oil. Enjoy!

I LOVE THIS ANALOGY:

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?

"Because someone bumped into me!!!"

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.

Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"

When life gets tough, what spills over?

Joy, gratitude, peace and humility?

Anger, bitterness, victim mentality and quitting-tendencies?

Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.

Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, resilience, positivity; and kindness, gentleness and love for others. 🤗
