Make It Circular, Inc. is a nonprofit sustainable circular economy business accelerator.
PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY
The current take-make-dispose linear manufacturing paradigm is fraught with negative environmental impacts, inequitable supply chain impacts, unsustainable resource extraction, toxicity in manufacturing processes and materials, and wasting of potentially reusable and recyclable resources into landfills where they are difficult to extract. Although many companies are making eff
orts to mitigate such problems, a framework for a paradigm shift in design and manufacturing to a take-make-reuse circular economy (CE) is a better way. This new framework imagines products that are net positive—regenerative and restorative—not ‘less bad’ but ‘more good’, thus taking sustainability to a higher ambition. VALUE PROPOSITION
Make It Circular is developing a sustainable circular economy (CE) social enterprise—a nonprofit CE business accelerator and co-manufacturing space for entrepreneurs who will either design waste out of products or utilize recycled feedstock to make products thus diverting waste from landfills. For innovators and entrepreneurs in this space, Make It Circular will offer scalable shared-office and manufacturing space equipment, logistics assistance, sustainable pack and ship services and other expert assistance in achieving market viability for their ideas including help with value certifications, marketing, mentorship and second stage capital. UNDERLYING MAGIC
