Well Happy New Year to all of you! I hope you all have a peaceful and healthy new year. I’m not changing anything about myself, except for consistency and measured decisions.
KB #1 has been built and on the back burner since October ( along with another) and is my first attempt at (It was completed in one day) I’m extremely excited about this process and have plans for 15 more of this size , 2 pieces at nearly 5’x8 “ and two of my 24”x12” standard 3” panels. This entire series of work is designed to be shown as a solo exhibition. Lots of surprises ahead and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do creating them.
The work is a departure from my previous work but I have been thinking that as a sculptor my work has always been about creating models. I’m just creating new types of models this art form has been around for decades I just want to put my own twist on it. As a product of the 70s I was enthralled by Star Wars as a child. This is where ( ) stems from. Adding greeblies ( model parts) as George Lucas named them to ILM sets the world of STAR WARS was created. I’m not trying to create any Star Wars world per se, but just doing my own thing.
I never wanted be a one trick pony as an artist, but to showcase myself to others for my wide and varied range of styles and skills.
I make things big / I make things small

Excited to announce that these 6 pieces are going to be at Martha Pace Swift Gallery at Liberty Station November 4th- 13th for Fleet week 2022 apart of the Military/ Veterans art show here in San Diego. The old NTC was connected to MCRD San Diego where I went to recruit training; (one of the best decisions I’ve ever made) this area of the city has a very significant place in my heart.
