The mission of Heart Strings is to equip underserved youth with the tools to bring music into their lives. We, at Heart Strings, believe that making music available to all will inspire our future generations to be their best selves with confidence and integrity. We are Fred Adadjo, Amanda Avery, Jim Salengo, Elizabeth Swift, and Teal Vivacqua...team members in UAlbany's Weekend MBA Class of 2017.
We are partnering with the Empire State Youth Orchestra to raise money for instruments, supplies, and repairs for their CHIME program in New York's Capital Region. CHIME (Creating Harmony, Inspiring Music Education) seeks to provide daily, intensive music training in an enriched environment to children who lack this support. Our goal is to offer underserved youth equal opportunity to pursue musical excellence, and, in doing so, cultivate critical 21st century skills. We are raising money by offering Heart Strings, which are unique "inspirational wearables" made from upcycled violin strings, many of them used by kids in the CHIME program!
