What you’re seeing here is actually an embossed cover, which made it very tough to recreate digitally, but I feel good about the result.

Introducing the third, most unique collaboration between Timex and The James Brand to date.

Drawing inspiration and rad vibes from pieces throughout the Timex Iron Man line’s decades long history, this watch is both an attention grabber and highly utilitarian, especially for those on the move.

Timex Iron Man, first introduced in 1984 is one of the most instantly recognizable and highest selling lines Timex has ever released, and I for one am happy to see the brand teaming up with other both here in the States and in over in Japan to bring some truly exciting takes on classic Iron Man watches.

The James Brand are EDC legends and again made sure to create a stand out pairing by co-releasing a color matched version of their light and versatile Redstone Knife, along with a vintage inspired canvas wallet.

If you want in on the fun, you can buy the watch on the Timex site and both the watch and related EDC goodies by visiting The James Brand

Hey friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their day. I wanted to introduce for the first time publicly, the Heritage 1854 shop. Along with the quiet rebrand of the site over the weekend, I wanted to venture out and start offering some gear for supporters of the site and the work that I do. The shop will officially be launching in the coming days, but I'm introducing this here, and a couple of other Timex centered social channels that I frequent as a thank you to the communities that are the heartbeat of what I do. Which means I am also offering everyone a special discount on everything in the shop (Info below)

In the shop will find shirts, hats, outerwear, accessories, and even some art prints that I put together. Very soon, this will also be the place to go to buy pieces from my own collection.

To lock in your 25% order discount, just enter LaunchDay at checkout. This offer is expires tomorrow at 1 PM EST, and is limited to one order per customer.

Heritage 1854 has been my favorite labor of love, and something I deeply believe in. The site is 100% independently designed, built, and operated by me with contributions by from all around the community over the years. Launching this shop is just a way for me to continue to fund everything I do as well as give some really cool stuff back to the community.

I hope you find something you love! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Inspired today by my friend .vintagemx to post my own 73 “Trapeze” Marlin.

I’ve loved this piece from the outset, acquired from in my early days of collecting. It’s a fun case style and a tribute to the design nature of Timex in the 70s, particularly in Europe.

Introducing the Timex x Worn & Wound WW75, the first collaboration between and .

Bold, beautiful, and a hell of deal for just $199, these watches ooze the wild, and creative era of 70s Timex.

I had the privilege of hanging out with both of these pieces for the past week and wrote some words on the blog (link in bio).

Limited to just 500 pieces per colorway, you can now find this pieces on the and Timex websites.

1959 Viscount - Ref. 40171

I’ve gotten a lot of new followers recently (Welcome!), so I thought I’d repost an oldie (and very much a goody). This may continue to be in my top 10 vintage Timex out there with very little competition.

1974 Viscount - Ref. 46150

I was reminded yesterday of this little beauty, one of my two very first vintage Timex pieces, so I had to pull it out for a quick, moody snap.

It looks a little tougher than most of my collection because it was purchased for just $5, found at the bottom of a bin in an antique store just outside of Greenville SC.

This watch started it all for me.

Introducing the Q Timex Vintage Hodinkee Limited Edition

Photos courtesy of Hodinkee

This new collaboration is exciting to me for many reasons. First off it’s clearly gorgeous, drawing inspiration for several decades. Most notably though, it’s dial resembles the 1961-62 Viscount Ref. 4017, with its crosshair dial, and pale green lume plots (don’t worry. No radium on this one). After that, Hodinkee chose to add a special textured ridge pattern around the edge of the dial that adds that extra umph to the dial. Then finally, a flex-o bracelet! Most of us collectors have a box full of vintage flex bracelets as they were very popular for many decades. It’s very fun to see a Timex with an updated version (with easy to remove links).

Second, I feel extra proud of one of my oldest and dearest friends, who joined the Hodinkee team as a Limited Editions Project Manager and was part of the team that coordinated the design and release of this beauty, among other fantastic pieces recently.

I was also honored to lend some words and some watches to the team for the promo shoot surrounding the Q LE, and a short interview on their site. I’ve been a big fan of the first two Hodinkee x Timex releases, and this is my favorite yet.

Yup. This is one special watch. Go grab it up!

Q Chronograph

Who would have thunk that the perfect photo of this watch would come from a perfectly lit bathroom (note the bracelet detail in the mirror)

What can I say about this beautiful Daytona homage except that it’s exactly what I hoped for when I first heard news of this watch. It’s all Quartz (Hatori/Seiko YM12 for those interested), but has a surprising weight to it. If I could change anything it would simply be to remove the date wheel to declutter the dial and lock in that symmetry.

Absolutely in my top 3 Timex releases this year!

Timex x Nigel Cabourn Desert Watch

Another one of one of my favorite collaborations came in yesterday and as always it’s an absolutely hit. Comes with two amazing straps (is by these collabs for the straps alone), and feels just right at home on my wrist.

You really can’t lose with these, and I highly recommend you grab one on either the Timex or Nigel Cabourn UK site.

Been a moment since I’ve done a post, and even though it’s not the weekend, I’m off today.

The Snow Peak X Timex Japan is a watch I never knew I wanted until it was very kindly gifted to me by my friend Alan, , while seeing him in Chicago this weekend.

nails it with every collaboration they do, and (actually a Japanese brand) is an excellent brand. Very happy to be wearing this watch, and love everything about it. Also very thankful for Timex Japan working so hard to keep the Camper style fresh and relevant.

Y’all didn’t think I’d let go by without having one or two myself, did you?

1959 Viscount - Ref. 4047

This viscount should actually have a gold case and white dial, but several decades of sunshine and radium burn have aged it to this beautiful salmon color. The case was already trashed so I just stripped it all the way. It really did become one of my favorite vintage pieces in the collection, and it’s history speaks for itself.

Thought I’d break out from Timex this morning at my favorite bagel place in town with one of my favorite Russian pieces, and a shot that would make proud!

The original, black dialed x still finds itself on my wrist more than almost any recent Timex release. It continues to be a perfect watch. Easy to read, tough (survives many a bath time with my toddler), and just gorgeous.

More of this collaboration, please.

The most expensive Timex out there?

It just might be. This sterling silver Timex Japan x Beams collaboration from November 2021 certainly came at an ambitious price for a Timex (around $1500 USD). When you really love a thing though, money isn’t really an object.

My dear friend Alan (), kindly (and maybe a little recklessly), surprised em and allowed me to borrow this piece for several months. Inside, it’s a standard, hand winding Timex, but on the outside it definitely makes a statement. Practical? Nope. Eye catching? Absolutely.

Bold and fun watches have been at the center of a years long relationship between the two brands, and I was very happy to spend time with this one.

1980 Marlin “Coke” - Ref. 27910

Inspired by my pal, .frugal.watch.collector when he posted his own today. I remember seeing this piece very early on in my collecting, and wanting it so bad. Having this one for a few years now has been a dream. Don’t see myself every letting it go.

1972 Kodak Voter’s Choice Mercurys

Happy 4th y’all. This day means a lot of things to a lot of people. It’s certainly a polarizing time in our country. We all have our opinions about how things should run. I know I do. I hope, though, that today we can look towards a future where we find common ground, learn to love one another, and listen to each other first and foremost.
