🤔When you practice yoga asanas, what do you typically say - I'm practicing yoga or I'm practising yoga asanas?

🌞While asanas are an integral part of yoga, they are just one aspect of a much broader holistic system of practices.
🌞Asanas which refer to physical postures are just one of the 'eight limbs’ of yoga as described in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.
🌞Yoga is a way of life, it's not something that we do only when we step on the mat but true essence lies in taking it off the mat and applying the principles to our work, relationships and all aspects of our daily lives.
🌞Yoga helps us unite our physical efforts with a mental intention so that we can access a deeper mind-body and navigate our lives with a greater sense of peace and purpose to achieve inner harmony, bliss and happiness.
🌞The physical postures are not the destination but they help us stay on track - moving toward the life that we want to consciously create for ourselves.
🌞By referring to physical postures as "yoga asanas" we not only distinguish them for other aspects of yoga but also acknowledge the multifaceted nature of the practice and honor the tradition and depth of knowledge that has been passed down over thousands of years. This helps us to approach yoga with reverence and allows us to reap the full benefits of this powerful practice.
