I often don't weigh in on these matters, but having lived in Aliquippa and also being from a small town with a track record of Athletic Excellence. Makes me wonder if this move is simply meant to crush a community because of its success. So If Aliquippa ends up facing let's say the defending 5A State champions Imhotep from Philadelphia in next season's State Title Game is the competitive balance the real issue here or the demographic one? I'm confident that a school with barely 300 total students can field a football team that would dominate schools with twice if not even triple the enrollment simply because they just are better and yes have done more with less for generations (5 Pro Football Hall or Famers) What kind of young men are supposed to rise from this town and excel in things other than han sports if they keep moving the goalposts?
