Adviser Mentor & Adviser Exam Tutor
New for self-employed advisers! THE ART OF ADVICE program - how to create a value based financial advice practice. This unique practice development program allows you to think beyond selling products and selling time. Grasp the concept of selling value and discover many ways to leverage your expertise. The result is to build a practice on higher income from fewer clients with a much healthier work-life balance.
JUST RELEASED! 'THE ART OF ADVICE' program, specifically designed for financial advisers to create a value-based financial advice practice.
The Art of Advice (3 mins) Creating a Value-based Financial Advice Practice
I host Mentor Circle for financial advisers every second Wednesday afternoon. However, the principles of building or reviewing an advice practice remain the same across all types of advice.
We started with setting goals, and two goals I strongly recommend that all advisers include is guard your health and aim to build a business that can eventually run without your full time involvement.
Without good health there is no business, and everyone needs to sign on to their own version of work-life balance.
Next, I asked participants to make an honest assessment of their strengths, weaknesses, and the opportunities and threats they face. No one likes owning their weaknesses but they shouldn't be avoided because they indicate the resources needed for the journey ahead.
Last week we talked about 'finding your niche'. Rather than being all things to all people which can run you ragged, 'niche advice' allows you to specialise, providing that you have the required depth of expertise.
Marketing also becomes more compact when you can focus on a specialty area of advice and / or aim your solutions at a well-researched and well-defined market group.
Next week we start the 'value' conversation. Essentially, the value of advice is what a client believes the advice is worth to them, relative to the amount of money they pay for it. Therefore, it is no surprise that value and price are inextricably linked.

INTRODUCING MENTOR CIRCLE
To complement my highly regarded adviser exam tutorial program, I am pleased to introduce my new program, commencing 1 Feb 2023.
It is Mentor Circle.
As the name suggests, Mentor Circle provides Zoom-based group mentoring for financial advisers changing and adapting their businesses in the never-ending blitz of decreased product revenues, rising fixed costs, endless legislation and changing industry structure.
I know from experience that many advisers feel mentally beaten up after many months and sometimes years of relentless stress over the adviser exam.
Although our focus will be sharply on practice development, the benefits of friendship and mutual support that have become the happy bi-product of adviser groups on the same journey cannot be underestimated.
If the idea of working on your business while working in it has appeal, I invite you to check out Mentor Circle at https://garyweigh.com/join-mentor-circle/.
I don't do this often but I would like to share a LinkedIn comment from Melbourne adviser, Sharon Tee who passed the adviser exam in May 2022.
"Just wanted to provide this feedback for those who need help to prepare really well for the Financial Advisor Exam: Gary Weigh has the highest level, most thoroughly comprehensive, and expertly written program for this exam. Everything you need to know and learn, including exam techniques are all in there. It will be the best investment made for anyone yet to pass. I could not have done it without the guidance his tutorials provided. If you methodically work through the tutorials, you won't need to plough through any other sample exam papers. It works!
ThankYou, Gary for your invaluable contribution to this profession."
Thank you Sharon, much appreciated 😊
