Diet Culture is a scam - and I'm a fitness nutrition specialist. ➡️Share with someone you care about.

⁉️1000 calorie diets with barely anything on the plate because some "insta fit girl" does that on her stories.

⁉️Cleanses and juicing and liquid diets because that's how "some celebrity" got back in to her pre-baby shape.

⁉️"Keto diets" (without not even knowing how to accurately get into ketosis⁉️) because some "Facebook fitness guru" swears by it.

⁉️🤐"Fit teas"? Don't even get me started.

⁉️"No carb" because apparently carbs are the culprit - especially if you eat carbs after 6.00pm 😄

⁉️"Fad diets" that could land you in binge eating, Eating Disorders, altered metabolism and other complications because people you never met and know nothing about look so good in pictures and their lives look perfect and you want to look like them.

🔴Trust me, your health is infinitely more important.

⁉️IG fitness personalities with multiple cosmetic procedures (tummy tucks, liposuction, breast lifts, ab etching, BBL, fat transfers... I can go on) marketing some subpar workout routine or a supplement that got them that body. I absolutely have nothing against cosmetic/reconstructive surgery - they can do wonders, but I have everything against people who set unrealistic standards (even for themselves) and marketing their B.S. products.

So yes, I am against diet culture.

👉🏽I am against you feeling guilty about eating something you really liked after being disciplined for so long.

👉🏽I am against you comparing yourself to these fake standards that do not exist.

👉🏽I am against "trainers", "gurus", "fit girls", "gym bros" scamming you of your money and time and joy of life.

👉🏽Stop sacrificing your days and mental health comparing yourself to strangers on the internet.

After 8 years and 100s of people later, I have not found anyone who benefitted from it.

🎯Just focus on getting healthier, feeling stronger - everything else falls into place.

✨Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed, responsibly and gratefully.

Random unpopular fitness truths I've learnt on my journey. Save for when you need a pick me up.

- Your mind is so much more powerful than you think. Be careful of what you think dominantly. If you are constantly thinking that you are gaining weight/losing weight/making progress/not making progress - Whatever you mostly believe in shall come to pass.

- Consistent discipline (of mind & body) is the only factor that guarantees your success.

- Everyone falls off the wagon. It only matters how efficiently you get back on track.

- Persistence over perfection. Anyday.

- Learn to read your body's cues (satiety, hunger, fatigue, response to certain food etc.) Get guidance until you can do it on your own.

- Patience. There's nothing like patience.

My dream girl is me at my highest potential.

I know a lot of you are waiting for the right time. For things to be perfect enough for you to start your journey. I'm sorry to tell you - all that you're doing is betraying your own self. Perfect timing doesn't exist.

The life on the left was what I was born into - the life on the right was one I created for myself.

I wanted it, so I put in the work.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that it was smooth sailing.

I didn't know of any shortcuts.

I didn't have a mentor.

I had no support system to cheer me on.

It was just me working full time - cooking all my meals in a home that didn't eat healthy - working my ass off in the gym after work - staying up hours doing research taking notes.

It was a constant struggle - and a lonely road - until everyone started noticing.

So just go ahead and start. Because 3 months from now - you might be unrecognizable.

From cutie-pie to STATUESQUE GODDESS 🙌🏽🖤

This is a lesson : a diet only optimally works when it's designed for you. And just because you train a lot doesn't mean you're training right.

So we come out
- over 7kg loss
- muscle gain
- 2 dress sizes down
- visibly glowing skin
- control over carb craving
- better menstrual cycle
- higher energy levels
- an overall feeling of well-being

She was already on a "diet" (from a popular meal planning service - but let's get to that.) and was training when she got in touch with me. But she wasn't seeing what she wanted to see in the mirror. She was complaining about bloating as well.

Step one was completely dropping her current meal plan service - that WASN'T DESIGNED FOR HER BODY.

A diet isn't one size fits all.

I fine tuned her macros for her specific goal body composition and identified what was causing the bloat and just like that two weeks in, we were bloat free.
And steadily losing fat.

We lost close to 8kg within our first phase (45 days - yes even in lock down, NO GYM) NUTRITION IS KEY.

We changed her training intensity and set her on a periodized well structured strength program and gains and curves were popping out.

She is one the THE MOST COMMITED clients (and a total sweetheart) I've worked with, just like everyday I'm blessed with the best. No complaints ever - just pure work ethic.

If you ever come upon a day that you feel like your whole world is going down, stop, take a breath and name as many things as you possibly can that you're grateful for.

From the air in your lungs to the text msgs of love in your phone, and the people who sent them.
