Scentipity

Wowzers! This one might be a keeper 😁 I purchased this red bottom, bamboo tray from HomeSense and fancied it up a bit. I love the colour combination of my mandala with the red exterior of the tray. It just needs a resin finish so the tray can withstand heat and anything else that might be put into it. Can’t wait to paint the larger red tray I purchased at the same time! I’m thinking reds/oranges and yellows for that one. Stay tuned!

After an emotionally difficult week, I feel lucky to have an outlet like painting to help balance and calm me. Terracotta plant pots in vibrant pink with oranges and yellows and grey with calming blues and golds. Just needs a lacquer finish then they are ready to go.

Took advantage of this free ‘snow’ day and did some painting. Completed the creamer and sugar container and finally finished these coasters I started about a month ago. Question, should the lid of the sugar container be painted with dots or does it look better as is?

Just in time for Valentine’s Day 💕I see potted pink tulips in the red flower pot and an Elin Hildebrand or JoJo Moyes novel (that’s as close to romance novels as I get!) for the bookmark ♥️

Went thrifting today looking for a 2 or 3 tiered metal serving try. Didn’t find one but purchased a few other things that jumped out at me begging to be painted with mandala designs ☺️ Anxious to get to the red plant pot. I’m thinking teals and oranges for that one. What colours would you like to see on it?

Well that was fun! Finished product from the previous post. Definitely takes some getting used to as the ceramic surface is not porous. Will definitely be adding these to my collection ♥️

Up next for Hyggezy! I started painting on rocks, moved onto cardstock then wood and mdf. Branched out a bit more last year by painting on metal and finally getting up the courage to paint on ceramics and glass. Love finding the bases of things to paint through thrifting, my Buy Nothing group and dollar stores, that way you’re mainly paying for the art ♥️ I’ll keep you posted when these are done!

Not sure why my name isn’t changing yet as I edited it last weekend 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyhoo, here’s my first post as Hyggezy! Finally made some time to get crafty and it feels wonderful! Small milk jug in black/cream/white for a longtime friend and trying out a new colour combo of teals/deep coral and terra cotta on some coasters.

Hi anyone who is still following this page. It’s been a hot minute since posting on here but I’m hoping this new year will have me working on posting with more intention and getting my work out there for all to see 🙂 As of January 21st this page will no longer be called Scentipity. My wee business is getting new branding to reflect the direction of the work I create. It will now be called Hyggezy and I hope you will continue to follow along with my artistic journey 💕

My latest project is this gorgeous serving tray. Pretty proud and impressed with myself ☺️ Took about 9 hours in total and is absolutely gorgeous! Also completed a journal, a medium trivet (hot plate), bookmarks, keychains and some pendants. My daughter even tried her hand at mandala painting by doing some rocks, keychains and a bookmark.

Bringing these pieces to market tomorrow ☺️ Smaller trivet, new coasters, fall coloured bookmark and milk jug (milk jug sold pending p/u), large sketchbook (sold) and cute, little birdhouse. Working on a serving tray for next time 😁
