Legion Airsoft Events

BIG NEWS..... some will cry (maybe a stretch there), some will no doubt rejoice (yawn)...... but, we are officially closing Legion Airsoft Events. We've had an absolute blast over the last few years but with multiple event cancellations over the last 7 months we feel the time has now come to hang up our boots. Myself and Simon have had the pleasure of running these events with it being our passion for the last 6 odd years, but our other business interests now take up more time and we simply can't justify the time for Legion anymore, so it has to go. Our radio silence recently has been because we did have another party interested in buying everything, but that is now not happening due to issues their end, so if anyone wants to take it on, let us know before we shred, burn and scrap everything.
On a more personal note, we would like to thank each and every single one of you who have attended our events (even those we've had a falling out with. Always fun having a verbal dustup 😉) . We simply provide the location and some objectives. It is you guys who made us who we are (were). It is you guys who put in the solid effort of playing our events the way they were intended, and you guys who accepted us into the community. We'll publish some more information in the coming weeks, but in short... Thank you all for everything.

If any of our Armed Forces and Emergency Services Veterans are around tomorrow our good friends over at Camberley Jiu Jitsu are having veterans meet up. Do some jiu jitsu or just rock up and have a brew and chew the fat. 09:30 - 11:30 Last Sunday of every month.

AGAIN we have been hit with the MOD's cancellation hammer due to troop training. ALL tickets have been refunded as of 10:00 this morning, including those who were transferring over from the other cancelled events. Please allow up to 10 working days for your refund to credit your account. We will not be transferring any players, the refunds have already been posted. We will also not be responding to comments on here due to us being away for the weekend, but we will post an update next week, with further info going forward. We apologise to all those who had booked on as it was looking to be a cracking turnout and event!

Operation Wildfire this weekend has been cancelled. We have also lost Septembers event for the 17th and this has been moved to October 08th 2022. All players booked on will receive an email shortly with your options of either a full refund, or transferring over to Operation Ruin. Any players we do not hear back from by the weekend will receive an automatic refund.

Sertorius 2 Complete, and what a weekend...... Mixed bag of emotions on this one, and firstly off the bat, we want to put our hands up and say we got this one a little wrong. Although we have had some pretty awesome feedback from quite a few players, we've also had some pretty bad feedback equally as many others. To those who attended who felt the event was a let down, we apologise. We do put a lot of effort into these events, and it's not fun, or enjoyable for us if things don't go to plan. And it is genuinely painful to see people accuse us (Me, Mike, as I write the events) of not putting effort into an event. Things didn't go to plan. We know why. We know how. We've made adjustments already. We'll make more adjustments moving forward. We will do better next time!

After an extremely hot day, the Barbarian team pulled off a defeat of the 10th Legion forces at Operation Urban Strike this past weekend. Despite having to remove a couple of players for various reasons, the day went very well. Legion would like to thank all players who attended and gave it their all, playing within the spirit of the event.

Debrief:
Both teams started aggressively out of the blocks rushing toward centre of the village to gain control and a vital foothold, with the Barbarian forces gaining the upper hand initially. It started to seem like the day might be very one sided with Barbarian forces appearing to be working and gelling more as a team than their opposition. With their HQ established quickly, and vital assets in the town controlled, the Barbarians were quick to score points.

For the 10th Legion forces however things did not start off as smoothly. Struggling to get a foothold in the town, and with issues getting messages to teams, the 10th were quickly held on the outskirts of the village.

As the day drew on, it looked like the Barbarians would prevent 10th forces from even scoring any points at all, but gradually, through sheer grit and will to fight, the 10th managed to start scoring toward the middle of the day. With that the Barbarian forces surged once more pushing 10th Legion back out of the village and hemming them in near the 10th Legion start point. But with the upper hand the Barbarians took their eye off the ball and relaxed allowing a small force of 10th Legion troops to move about the AO unchallenged scoring points. The Barbarians were suffering from tunnel vision allowing the 10th to score more points eventually only noticing at the last minute and shifting their focus.

As the final minutes of the game drew down the 10th again scored bringing the score close, but sadly, it was too little too late and a win for the Barbarian forces.

Right boys and girls. Currently there is a red warning in place for all military training areas. This means a load of restrictions, including pyro bans are in effect. Now having spoken to the MOD this afternoon they have indicated it may be lifted by the weekend after rain, but we will not know this until later in the week. The event is still going ahead, but this is just a heads up that there may be some extra rules we will have to enforce. Info will start rolling tomorrow as well for this event.

Due to a lower than expected interest in the police force at Operation Sertorius 2, we have decided to increase the number of Task Force slots available. It is only a small increase in numbers, and don't worry, as it is, we have plenty of players to run the event and make it a great one! 💥

Operation Urban Strike has MOVED to the 16th July due to military requirements. If you cannot make this date you are entitled to a refund. We are currently trying to sort a replacement event at Bramley for the 25th June so watch this space. Any questions, email us. All tickets have been switched automatically, so if that date works for you, you do not need to do anything.

IT NEVER RAINS, IT POURS! We are unfortunately having to cancel Operation Change this weekend due to a low player turnout/transfer. Unfortunately we don't have enough players to even make a good game, due to the last minute switch of events, so all players who are booked/transferred to Operation Change will receive a full refund.

Additionally, we have also now been bumped for Operation Urban Strike on the 25th June, so we will tomorrow publish a new date for that event (we're hoping Saturday 16th July). All players on that event will have the option to switch to the new event, or receive a full refund.

Operation Sertorius 2, is also moving weekends (hopefully to the weekend later) because we've lost the Sunday for that event too.

Finally. Please bear with us as we sort through all these date changes. We've been quite fortunate with the MOD in that this is (outside of the pandemic) only the second (or maybe third) time we've been bumped in 5 years. Obviously we now have a mountain of people to contact and refunds to process, so please bear with. Emails will be sent out shortly.

Unfortunately, due to reasons outside of our control, we have to cancel Operation Sabre Assault. We will instead be running a BattleSim event on the Saturday the 28th. All players who have booked onto the event have the following options;
1) Take a full refund
2) Transfer your ticket to the 1 day BattleSim (we will refund the difference in price)
3) Transfer your ticket fee over to Operation Sertorious 2 at Longmoor on the 15-17 July.
Due to the massive amount of messages we are about to be inundated with, please email [email protected] with your ticket ID and preferred option. Please only make your option requests via email, as that way we can more easily keep track of who want's to do what. If we don't hear from you by the end of next week we will automatically refund your full game fee.
