The 2014 Girls Team is a mix of seasoned veterans and newer players, all of whom tackled the challenges they faced at the PCU Rose City Cup tournament earlier this month with incredible attitudes.

As players adapted to the larger field and new tactical situations, the learning curve was steep but short. Tournaments are like an intense classroom, where back-to-back games offer rapid lessons. The improvement from the first game to the last was immense.

Yes, there are always things to work on, but identifying those areas for improvement is what makes these tournaments so valuable. The team can focus on these areas to make them even stronger. That was the biggest win from the weekend.

Members, check your email and take a moment today to click through to our online ballot and mark your selections for the following board positions: President and Treasurer. Since the nominated individuals are incumbents, we will now be looking for an individual to fill the following board role:
- Director at Large

We are still looking for volunteers willing to step into the following Coordinator roles:
- Communications Coordinator
- Fundraising Coordinator
- Volunteer Coordinator

Also, a new need for our club:
- Bilingual Support Volunteer

We are all so excited to get our hands on our new Adidas kits for the 2024-2025 season and are ready to rock our new brand and hit the field at Chehalem Valley Soccer Club.

To make this easier, our amazing board member, David Rath will be visiting upcoming practices with different size kits so you can choose what to order for your player(s).

As we gear up for another exciting season of soccer, we are reaching out for your help and participation. Our club thrives because of the dedication and involvement of our members. As some families have "graduated" from youth soccer or moved away, several roles on our Leadership Team have opened up. Additionally, with our club's growth, the responsibilities have increased, and we need your support to fill the gaps!

We currently have 8 positions open on our Leadership Team, and we are looking for passionate individuals who are eager to contribute to the success and growth of our club. So far, we have received only 1 nomination, and we need more candidates to ensure a robust and diverse team.

Jaylene is not new to our soccer club, but deserves no less introduction. Jaylene has been our registrar for over 5 years, In her role, she's been dedicated to ensuring smooth operations and supporting various community initiatives. Beyond her professional life, she is also the school secretary at Joan Austin Elementary School, where she enjoys contributing to the educational environment and supporting the students, teachers, and families.

When our Leadership Team decided at the beginning of June that we wanted to have a fun Season Kick-off Event for our members, we didn't know just how much our amazing community would come together to make that happen.

Today, we want to give special thanks to The Water Oasis for generously hosting our soccer club event! Next week's event is better with their involvement.

A final reminder about our upcoming (member exclusive) Season Kick-off event that is just 1 WEEK AWAY!

Come ready for a night of community fun including:
- Food and beverages
- Raffle packages to raise money for our scholarship fund
- Dunk a coach
- Lawn games

I certainly wouldn't have considered going to college, much less trying to walk-on for a college sport or become a scholarship-athlete. Due to the forecasted high temperatures this week, many teams will be making some adjustments to practice schedules to ensure the safety and well-being of our players. We follow the Oregon Youth Soccer Association guidelines for heat and safety.

Please be sure to check TeamSnap for updates to your team's schedule. Coaches should also be sending out a message of any changes.
