12 years done and finished today. It still doesn't feel real, probably won't set in until I don't have to get up to go to work next Saturday, which I am very much looking forward to!

I am actually raging after hearing some f**kwit has taken it upon themselves to chop this iconic tree down. Why?!?! What the hell was the motivation?!?!

I always wanted to go see it in person and was really looking forward to taking my boys once they were up for the hike. Now we will never do that.

To whoever did it, you will get what's coming to you.

Yesterday my lil familiar and best boy passed away.

It doesn't matter if you've been watching for it, as we have for the past few weeks, it is still a deverstating loss.

He was a huge part of the family and my life in particular. We all referred to him as my familiar as it didn't matter where I was in the house or even on the estate if I called his name he would just appear, running straight to me, often sitting on my shoulders while I wandered round (when he was younger at least) as he got slower and older he just wanted more and more snuggles. He always liked a good fuss but the last week or two he would shout at me if he didn't get a cuddle as soon as I came in. Such a funny old man.

I think this loss hurts so bad because Charlie was the one constant in my life for the longest time and had beaten so much before.

Years ago the vet sent him home so I could say goodbye as he had cat flu and wasn't expected to survive the night. I will never forget the way my heart dropped the next morning when I realised he was curled up so still and the instant tears of relief when I said his name and he shuffled straight up the bed to bop me on the face with that cold nose of his.

Pets don't live forever, I know that, but after everything I had still kinda convinced myself that my old boy was going to live forever, there just seemed to be no stopping him and he was incredibly good at duping extra treats off me and as I recently found out others on my estate 😅😅

He was the best black cat anyone could wish for and I will miss him everyday but he will always have a special space in my heart.
