A Letter to all Artists from our Founder - Jickson V George
”PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
With the sudden demise of KK last night, I remembered my conversations with artists who regularly jammed at the Studio/Jampad. In those conversations I got to know that most performing artists were not getting enough sleep and rest because they were traveling to a new location for a show almost everyday. Most times they would eat from outside or from the venue itself, because they seldom get a chance to stay home. There was also a good amount of drinking and smoking going on throughout the journey.
I even heard stories of band members falling severely sick during gigs, unable to perform and getting hospitalised.
It's true, our spirit as an Artist will never give up, will never die, but the body might not stay young and healthy as always. So it is important we take care of our health atleast once in a while before it's too late.
Few pointers i would like to share here:-
1. Have a full body health checkup once at least 4-6 months, that may include, blood tests, scans etc. It will assure you that everything is alright and if there is any underlying problem or concern you can initiate some form of treatment and do the necessary steps to get it sorted.
2. Eat or Pack homemade food as much as possible, there is nothing healthier than homemade clean food. If you ever get a chance, do speak to a restaurant personal, chef, cook or any food catering individual, who deals with commercial food business on a daily basis. If they are honest they will tell you how most of the food is cooked and prepared causing severe hazard to anyone having regular consumption.
3. Do try to cut down on Alcohol and smoking as much as possible, having a drink to celebrate or relax is different from downing a bottle or two daily. Smoking too is a silent killer and has been the reason for death for a lot of artists all over the world.
I may be a nobody to say or share these things to you, but just know I care for you. I care for your well being and for your family. Imagine leaving your family, your friends and this whole world just because your health couldn't cope up in spite of being a brilliant artist. Life can sometimes get harsh and we need to always take care of ourselves to continue with the gift of Art we have and give as much quality music to the World, so that it remembers us when we leave.
KK has left behind beautiful songs from his Artist career so that we can listen, cherish and remember him. But the void he has left for his family, friends and true fans can never be filled with anyone or anything.
So I humbly request, please take care of yourself, you are Precious.
