Cosplay Academy is THIS WEEKEND!

I think this is going to an amazing event (honestly I'm so pumped to learn from my fellow instructors!).

Here are some FAQs I'm hearing:

⭐ you do NOT need to be at the event live! I'm hearing from our hosts that a large percentage of attendees are in team rerun. (I know I will be to catch up on what I missed!)

⭐ I'm teaching dremel + woodburning techniques. Because I've seen many new foamsmiths struggle to even begin with these tools, I'm going to start simple with how to do BASIC stuff. But then I'll move onto more advanced techniques + tips and tricks.

EEEEE new costume alert!!

I made Jolteon in 2020 and then... didn't like her. I think I didn't quite have the skills to finish her the way I wanted, and of course it was 2020 and there was no reason to really push through since no one would see her.

But something made me pull her back out for Katsu and I am SO happy with the changes I made! Some things still need work (those bangs 😬) but I'm glad I was able to bring her out at all 💚⚡

My very first book launch was this weekend 💚

I am so grateful to everyone who attended, crafted, bought books and merch, and congratulated me. I'm feeling fulfilled and proud... and ready for the next big project!

It's baby's first Katsucon and I'm bringing some fun ones! Have any advice for me?? I'd love to hear it!

Friday I'll be in Yone with a FULL Heartsteel group! This is my first group cosplay and I cannot express how excited and honored I am to get to hang with some incredible cosplayers 💚

Saturday is BBQ Leona. I'll be at 's League meetup - SO excited to see all the incredible cosplays from Runeterra!

Sunday I'm finally debuting Jolteon, who I made in... 2021?? I don't have a group, but I'd love to meet up with other Pokémon or eeveelutions if you'll be there!

YOU'RE INVITED! I've scheduled my in-person launch party for The Glue Guide and I'd love love love to see you there. I'll have snacks and CRAFTS (swipe to see a bookmark inspired by 👀👀) and hugs and a wonderful gorgeous book store venue.

I'm actually so excited about the craft! We're using Mod Podge (oh hey it's a PVA glue you can learn about that in the book!) by to make pressed flower and sticker acrylic bookmarks! Come show me up. I like mine but I know yours will be better 😉. They're freeeeeeee!

Of course I'll also have online launch events but seriously - if you're somewhere around Dayton, Ohio I would be so honored to see you at this dream come true party 💚

In 2023 I made a book, a workshop, AND a costume! I'm proud of and I love all three, but in 2024 I want to make more than one cosplay 😊

Looking through all the costumes I've ever made makes me grateful for:
⭐ incredible photographers
⭐ amazing cons and locations
⭐ my growth as a maker (and model!) over the years

I did it - I finished Heartsteel Yone in 2023 😭😭😭

(shhhh don't ask about the wig...)

I am so proud of this costume and SO excited to cosplay with a group for it.

Now to sleep for 16 hours and then get to work on a big big Warhammer cosplay 💪🏻

Progress on Maugan Ra is slow but exciting! I've been focusing on his big scary skull pauldrons.

I started with Halloween décor skulls, then added a whole lot of bulk and sharpness using foam clay from , who is the foam sponsor for this build. The first slide is at about 90% done, after quite a bit of sculpting and sanding.

Since the skulls are hollow, the pauldrons will remain light even after they include both the skulls and the armor pieces.

Y'all I love this show so much, and I feel like it needs as much love and attention as Adventure Time and Steven Universe. If you like those shows please please please go check out the first couple episodes of Centaurworld on Netflix!

The premise is that a regular horse gets transported to a world filled with Centaurs. But they're like... cute stupid animal centaurs. So the main characters include an alpacataur, a birdtaur, and a giraffetaur.

11AM on Saturday I'm talking about BIG PROPS - how to make them, how to take them to a con, and how to not hurt yourself with them! And I'll be bringing multiple examples so you can see them in person 😊

1PM on Sunday I'm presenting Cosplay 201: Level Up Your Making. I haven't done this talk since before COVID, and I did a big ole revamp last week with a TON of new tips and things I've learned over the past three years of going super hard on competition pieces!

I genuinely think both of these talks are educational and entertaining, and I hope you'll join me for them.
