On Saturday, November 9th we will have a celestial paint and sip featuring Lindsborg Artist Jennifer Krob at the Sundstrom on the second floor.
We will also have a fun fall mocktail compliments of the Lindsborg Arts Council.
We ask that no alcohol is brought into the Sundstrom.
This is an adult class (ages 18 and up please).

The $20 Payment is due upon registration and is required for this class.
This is a fundraiser for the Lindsborg Arts Council. Refunds will not be issued unless the event is canceled.

**Please note** - this class runs concurrent with the viewing event at Coronado Heights and photographer Jim Richardson's presentation. This is not a drop-in class, and it will last the whole 2 hours from 6pm-8pm.

The Membership Thank You Party featuring "80 Proof Alice" is tomorrow night from 6pm-8pm.

Please come see what the Lindsborg Arts Council has been doing this year and hear some great Kansas bluegrass from 80 Proof Alice.

If you are a member of the arts council, or have ever thought about becoming a member, this event is for you!! We have several different levels of membership available including one for students! We also want to see our contributing artists and business owners come to this event. It's our "thank you" for all that you do to make our organization a success!

We will have finger foods and the bar will be open for you to purchase beverages. We prefer to keep this to high school age and up, so please leave the littles at home and come enjoy a fantastic concert in the beer garden at American Legion Post 140 Lindsborg, KS

This is an event to honor the partnerships with our members and others in our community. We also have opened this up to the artists and Smoky Valley area business owners who contributed to the Chocolate Lovers Affair and Auction this last February. So please make plans to come and sit in the beer garden and have some awesome snacks. The lounge will be open for anyone who would like to buy beverage or two. It will be a beautiful evening for a bluegrass concert.

We are over the moon to get to bring 80 Proof Alice to Lindsborg for this special evening. Bluegrass "straight outta Kansas"
Reigning from Hays, Kansas, 80 Proof Alice is a high-energy trio performing all types of music blended into a bluegrass style. Tyson Lesage brings a dynamic style to the group with his lively Flatpicking, coupled with the tasty banjo stylings of the 2022 Kansas State Banjo champion, Jason Riegel. Aimee Riegel rounds out the group with steady bass beats, soulful vocals and harmonies.

They just released their new single today! Check it out. And then make plans to come see them in October 5th.

Eliza Polly Elizabeth Polly is traditionally the name of a beloved hospital matron at Fort Hays, Kansas, an "angel of mercy" during the cholera outbreak of 1867 who also died of the disease. It is said that her spirit still walks Sentinel Hill, carrying a blue lantern, looking for soldiers to comfort.

80 Proof Alice is a "Kansas Bluegrass" band out of Hays and they have recently played at the River festival in Salina as well as other large music festivals across our amazing state.

The flower hammering fabric project was a hit! Definitely something we'll have to do again! Huge thanks go out to Shelly Carlson (welcometonanas.com) for her wonderful inspiration and guidance. Also big thanks to our volunteers who helped us today: Aria Peterson, Sandy Hunter, and Kathy Englund! 🫶 We look forward to partnering on more projects like this with Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center!

Members and friends: we are looking for a few volunteers to help us with a Kids event this Saturday! During "Lindsborg in Bloom", the Lindsborg Arts Council will be hosting a really fun craft time at the Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center! We need volunteers during two shifts: 10:00-11:30 & 11:30-1:00. And the best part? You get to smash flowers with hammers! Please email us at [email protected] if you can come hang out and lend a helping hand. This activity could involve needing to get down on the floor. If you want to help but have any restrictions, let us know and we will still find a place for you to get plugged in. Thank you!

We're so appreciative of our members!! Part of your membership fee goes to help pay for projects like the Children's Art in the Smoky Valley - an everchanging gallery of artwork by local students from Soderstrom Elementary School, Lindsborg Child Development Center, and the Marquette Learning Center. This is a new project we started this past fall as a way to showcase the younger generation's creativity...and encourage everyone to stop and get some ice cream while they're at it. ;)

You all showed up to Saturday night's 30th annual Chocolate Lover's Affair and helped us to raise SO MUCH for our local high school scholarships and grants - we are still in shock!! THANK YOU!! And we wholeheartedly appreciate your support in helping to celebrate Janie Tubbs as our Artist of the Year: she is such a deserving woman! We enjoyed watching everyone send a whole bunch of love her direction for the evening. 🥰 Finally, thank you to so many of our local artists who gave of their time and skill to donate some wonderful auction items this year.
