Saturday was our Thrive Conference for 85 church pastors and leaders. Some of these leaders drove over 100km! Our worship was fantastic - a combination of Khmer and Bayside! Our leaders attended four breakout sessions with topics ranging from church/community unity, Celebrate Recovery and spiritual warfare. After lunch the skies opened up and we had torrential rainfall! And then sun and rainbows. Sadly after the conclusion of our conference the team departed for Phnom Penh. Tears, hugs, prayers, unforgettable memories!
The weather today was challenging! Rain, extreme heat and humidity, and blazing sun! But the team dug deep and served 150 seniors in the medical and eye glass clinic; led 110 kids in an art project and sports game; distributed a ton of rice. The people here are strong and faithful. It is difficult to hear their stories from the Killing Fields.
The team just completed its first full day in the province. We fitted over 75 people with reading glasses, ran a small medical clinic, painted faces, played soccer, worked on arts and crafts with 100 kids! Also 1 ton of rice was distributed to the villagers!
A highlight: being asked to pray for 96yr old Uhm who suffers from low blood pressure and had fallen. She and her daughter were the only family members to have survived the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge.
Such a blessings with my beautiful people in communitie. Love you all, GOD BE WITH US!
