As the founding President, I am thrilled to see our hard work come to fruition and our organization recognized as an official Inn. Naming our organization after Polly Jackson Spencer has been a highlight of this journey.
I was touched today to walk in my office and see the sweet gifts from my staff on Boss’s Day! These hardworking public servants give a 110% everyday, they take pride in what they do and strive to provide the public their best. I’m privileged to get to work with them on a daily basis!

Today I presented to Commissioners Court to discuss a grant Bexar County recently applied for to create a Senior Justice Assessment Center, modeled after Harris County. The SJAC would provide a holistic approach to Senior victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation. It would not only bring together law enforcement agencies to ensure successful prosecution but also provide much needed wraparound services to these special victims. Members of the Elder Abuse and Exploitation Task Force came out in full force to support this much needed initiative. SJAC creation has been a goal of the Task Force for 3 years. We look forward to the SJAC becoming a reality in Bexar County.
This weekend I had the pleasure of representing the Polly Jackson Spencer American Inn of Court at the Inns of Distinction Gala. As the founding President of the Inn, I received a special invite. The best part was the event location, the United States Supreme Court! It was an amazing and memorable experience!

Thank you Senator Menendez for inviting me to participate in the Elder Abuse Townhall. I am proud to Co-Chair the Elder Abuse and Exploitation Task Force with the Senator for the past 5 years. Many of our community partners were also present at the townhall.
I’m not sure what you all did for lunch, but I had the pleasure of speaking to the Retired American Postal Workers on Wills and POAs! I do this every year as my Dad is a retired postal worker. I even wore my postal blue!
Great Task Force meeting today! We discussed the efforts we are currently making to create a Bexar County Senior Justice Assessment Center. It would be modeled after the one in Harris County. Our community partners are excited to collaborate to make this project possible!
Another great National College of Probate Judges conference (NCPJ). I am proud to be on the Executive Committee for NCPJ. The best part of the organization is meeting fellow Probate Judges from across the United States. I look forward to the next conference!
Congratulations San Antonio Legal Services (SALSA) on a successful luncheon! I’m proud to be the Judicial Co-Chair of this amazing organization. Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all who have served our country! 🇺🇸
This year I was tasked with establishing a Probate specific American Inns of Court for Bexar County (modeled after Inns already created in Harris and Dallas County). The new Inn will be named the Polly Jackson-Spencer American Inns of Court. If you are unfamiliar with the Inns, essentially it’s an organization whose mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills amongst lawyers. Last night I conducted our first meeting with the Benchers (those probate practitioners with more than 30 years). There we adopted bylaws and the charter. I was also elected as the first President of the new organization. I’m looking forward to growing this organization and fostering camaraderie amongst the probate bar.
Thank you Rachel Cavazos and AARP for inviting me to present on Wills and Estates Planning! Educating the public is one of my favorite things to do!
Today, I was surprised to be honored with the President’s award from the San Antonio Bar Association. The organization recognized me and Patricia Vargas for the hard work we put in over the past couple of years towards the creation of a 3rd Probate Court in Bexar County. It is nice to be recognized for the hard work we put in for the citizens of Bexar County!
