A Secret Clubhouse for our babies is complete!

I took this under the stairs closet and gave it a major glow up by removing everything, deep cleaning, repurposing a desk from their old play space into storage cubes, installed new floating shelves, painted everything, added a bulletin board, chalk board, white board & some inspo & let them loose! Anything is fair game here but according to their rules, “adults must knock first and no wining is allowed” 😂😆❤️

Onto to the next home Reno project!!

If you have been following along our home renovation journey, I finally have a “pretty much finished” space to share with you!

We still have SO much to do but It is important to pause, & celebrate progress along the way!

This is the downstairs kitchenette area.

We had new lights installed, took down a fan that was also over the cabinets, got rid of the popcorn ceiling, painted the windows & trim, took the old upper cabinets down, painted EVERYTHING fresh, painted an eye goggling star stencil on the wall, hung up floating shelves & hung up a mirror!

If I could incorporate doing spaces like this for others into our Restore with Rachel business I probably would because I LOVE making old tired spaces & things pretty & functional again & it is just wild what paint and good lighting can do for a space!

It folds up so nice and small and could easily be used as a console or entryway table, but when you need to seat another 4-6 people, the ends pop up and it extends into a full length table.

This refinished solid maple wood 6 drawer dresser is now available!

This was completely stripped down, sanded, stained & sealed in polyurethane. The color is a slightly cooler, neutral wood with brand new matte black modern metal cup pulls and new durable vinyl lined drawers. All drawers work smoothly and middle drawer has built in drawer dividers for great organization.

This is also on hidden caster wheels so can easily be moved if desired.

The drawers are lined in new vinyl paper and the inside & out sides of the drawers are conditioned in a natural bourbon vanilla scented furniture salve. The distressed stencil was hand applied in “bone white.

This refinished antique dresser will be a part of the amazing White Barn & Co. Event in Menomonie, Wi over the weekend of September 20th.

The original damaged veneer top was removed to reveal the beautiful wooden top. The front of the dresser, sides and top were all sanded down to bare wood. I used fusion mineral light oak stain & finishing oil on exposed wood, and hand painted “bone white” enamel paint on the rest. The entire piece is sealed in two coats polyurethane. The drawers were all lined with new vinyl paper on the bottom, and the sides inside & out were conditioned with a natural bourbon vanilla scented furniture salve.

This measures: 34.5” tall
20.5” deep

Hi, I’m back!

I disappeared for a few weeks in the pockets of time from our move across the state with my sander, paints & stains & came back with all of these FINISHED pieces!

My amazing mother has let me set up shop
In her shed while we are working/waiting for our home to be finished & I’ve been having a great time working on these!

Refinishing furniture really is my “quiet time” & I just love doing what I do! Furniture really can make or break a space & either help a room work for you or fight against you. I love being a small part of creating functional & aesthetic cohesive flow from pieces like this within a home.

Hi, friends!

I don’t have any super exciting updates or finished projects to share at the moment. We’re neck deep in home renovations, transitioning our kids into a new school district on the other side of WI & in the meantime I’ve been working on all this awesome furniture! Im trying a bit of different approach these days of doing ALLL the furniture in stages. Example, stripping everything. Sanding everything. Then finishing (paint / stain/topcoat) everything. I think it’ll look like nothing has happened for weeks & then feel like I’ve finished 50 pieces at once when im done & that’s kind of exciting. I’m pumped to be sharing some pieces In a really cool barn sale in Menomonie in September, and anxiously waiting until our new space is organized & finished enough to take on custom projects again & dive into selling our pieces via Etsy! ❤️ Always feel free to send me project requests if you have something in mind & I’ll keep you in the loop on when we can make your vision come to life!

Life is so good! We are blessed & super busy & trucking along taking one day at a time.

A few pieces for our new house, a bit of a Project pile & a couple of custom orders … comin’ up!

My mom is letting us stay with her while we renovate our new home so this is my temporary stockpile!

We are finally at a spot in our “new” house where we’re handing off some of the work load to professionals so while we’re waiting for their parts to be done, I’ll be working on these!

After & Before!

This gorgeous customer credenza was freshened up from top to bottom.

I stripped the whole thing down and then sanded smooth. There originally was essentially a solid, opaque finish over the whole piece that was pretty but super scratched up. After stripping it we learned it was made of a few types of veneers and also solid wood- which showcases in the multiple types & tones of wood grain.

I used wise owl furniture salve in vanilla bourbon scent to seal it up & keep it as natural looking as possible & bonus it smells amazing.

New brushed bronze hardware was also installed to make this baby shine.

Done!

The official battle between Rachel with a new power drywall sander & an ENTIRE HOUSE of popcorn ceiling I’m giving the boot to, begins!! 💪🎉

This little cutie has been refinished & back home with its owner. An antique sewing table that I helped refinish. The owner started sanding and stripping this & just wanted help crossing the finish line.

I finished sanding the original finish off, then stained, polyurethaned and added new handles. I also used a wonderful smelling furntiture salve inside the drawer and inside the table to help condition the wood.

Done!

After & before!

This customer order credenza flip is finished!

My customer wanted this to coordinate with some blue bookshelves in her home office. She bought this from a former lawyers office & brought it to me.

I used bondo to fill the previous key holes and handles. Then sanded it all smooth. I sprayed three coats of enamel paint & 1 coat of poly to protect this, as well as installed new handles & painted the feet gold, too!

Done!

This customer dresser flip is finished!

My customers grandfather made it by hand years ago and it’s very well built! She just wanted it cosmetically updated so it would coordinate with their son’s bed frame & fit their more modern decor and be something her son could enjoy for many years!

I stripped the entire piece down, sanded smooth and then did a bit of a custom stain, mostly a mocha color with a sprayed clear topcoat. I installed new handles, lined the drawers with a cool paper and then installed five new feet on the bottom (one hidden in the middle for support).

Done!
