The May Company
lord almighty we're social networking. What makes The May Company special? Hmm...well, they play guitars and drums. Oh, and they all trade off on vocals.
I guess lots of bands do that. Ok, they sing songs about Native Americans, Talk Radio, hoop dreams, frozen dinners, and other cool crap like that. Really, they probably only started playing together to create a new avenue to drink for cheap.
Depending on your definition of "triumph,' Dave Rich and His Enablers make our triumphant return to Akron this Saturday, 2/24. Arrive early: Floco Torres is must-see.
Dave Rich creates an all-star lineup of Akron musicians with his 'Enablers' Dave Rich, a longtime Akron musician has hundreds of new songs, and he is getting some help from other big names in the music scene to play them live. Chris Butler, David Giffels and "Friday Mike" Wilkinson round out Dave Rich and His Enablers.
For any May Company fans not aware: You’ve got a lot of music to catch up on!
And it has Ideastream’s Shuffle’s seal of approval.
“When longtime musician Dave Rich’s popular surf-rock instrumental band, the Beyonderers, went on an indefinite hiatus during the pandemic, he started writing his own rock songs in a fury. Rich is releasing five albums worth of new songs over the next year, and what I’ve heard so far, they’re all fantastic.
He describes his new band as some ‘real old dad rock,’ and his bandmates are some big names in the music scene: Chris Butler of the Waitresses on drums, writer and bassist Dave Giffels and ‘Friday Mike’ Wilkenson [sic] on guitar. ‘Strategic Laments + Baseball’ is Rich’s first full vocal album released over the summer. And a spoiler: Dave Rich and his Enablers will be on Shuffle in February 2024.”
