Simple food can be delicious too. Dorm Culinaire is now A Penny for Food. Then, the question arises as to why they do not cook it for themselves.
Having moved out of a dorm quite some time back, the name didn't seem quite the same anymore. A Penny for Food retains the same focus on quick, easy to make food while also keeping strict tabs on the spiralling costs of nutrition. Expect not just recipes and photos, but also information about what you can do to lead a sustainable life. Given a choice, people would prefer a fresh, home-cooked meal
over a microwave-heated dinner or an extravagant fare at a fancy restaurant everyday. Perhaps it is due to a lack of knowledge or a belief that cooking was an overly complicated and time consuming matter. Maybe people are afraid of trying without any previous training or simply too lazy to. Pondering over these thoughts, I decided to help others as I went along learning and experimenting with food on my own. That was the reason I, inspired by Jamie Oliver’s message to Pass It On, set up Dorm Culinaire: to help students cook and enjoy healthy, tasty and nourishing food, within no time and on a budget.
