End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is something no one wants to hear, but in January of 2018 I was informed by my Nephrologist that my kidneys were only performing at 12% and I would need to start dialysis. I went to Rush to be evaluated to be placed on the transplant list but was bluntly informed I was to large to be transplanted. I then was told about Dr Dinee Simpson at Northwestern, she was caring and concerned and informed me with weight loss I would have a better chance. Well here I am 4 years later and 90 lbs lighter and I have met the weight loss goal, my BMI is now 43. With all this being said I am in need of a kidney, African Americans don’t usually consider live donation of organs but most patients have a faster chance of getting a organ from a live donor. If anyone is willing to be tested please feel free to reach out to me, giving the gift of life is selfless act. You may not want to be a donor but please share this page with as many people as possible someone may want to donate. As my pastor Derrick Jones Jr of New Zion MBC says this is my season and I receive it and I am patiently waiting.
