"Happy" World Goth Day everyone!
As I sat in my grand son's choir concert tonight watching all the beautiful children sing their hearts out, I was overwhelmed with emotion. I couldn't stop thinking about all those amazing kids and the world they're growing up in.
It's a stark contrast to the world I lived in at that age when I was the one on stage.
I managed to keep the tears from streaming but had to pat the corners of my eyes to ebb the flow.
At one point I thought, maybe these are the ones who will save us. However, I immediately felt mental pushback.
That's a ridiculous amount of pressure to put on these young generations! This is not their problem! This is our problem. We built this sh*tty world. It's our job to save it.
So here I am on Facebook. Asking some simple questions to my Facebook friends. Why can't we be nice to each other? Why can't we just accept that everyone is not the same and that it's okay to be different? Why do we need to be all up in everyone else's business? How can we expect the younger generations to save us when we're not willing to fight for a better life for them?
You don't have to actually answer me. But I sure hope you think about it.
