My parenting was pretty s**t this week. Ranting and tears on the school run (all me). In hindsight it was from a complete lack of self care on my part.
I don’t usually share my epic fails but social media is so often all the best bits. I hate looking around and thinking everyone has their s**t together while I’m falling short. So I hope this helps another mum who’s had a s**tty week know that they’re doing alright!
Take care of yourselves too, charge yourself up - take a few mins to breathe, 15 mins to journal, 20 mins to read or do some exercise
You won’t always get it right but you will get it right most of the time 💖💖
The perfect book to pop in your bag to keep them entertained in the car, out for dinner, by the pool - a great stocking filler 🤩
We seem to end up with loads of half used sticker books so rather then take loads of stuff with us we pulled some sheets of stickers out and away we went.
Sticking, writing, doodling, drawing, naughts and crosses, hours of fun! 💖
What is life without a spa break! 🧖♀️
After a full on half term I managed to sneak off for a night away with my mum and it was bliss! I feel like I’ve been on holiday it was so relaxing. Comfy bed, decent breaky and floating about in the spa, life made 🤩
The best deal was with - £150 for 2 for a night with breakfast and full access to the spa, gym and all the classes (bounce, Pilates, Zumba, yoga etc) with robes and towels 💖
Dia de los Mu***os - The Mexicans do it best - celebrating and remembering those we’ve lost.
They leave meals for the dead and wear masks to scare off the souls that are confused thinking they’re still alive.
Mexican festivals, food, life and death all seem so bright and vibrant - I love it.

Spending time with your besty has got to be up there with the best way to top yourself up. While we won’t be winning any awards for our masterpieces we did spend a couple of hours doing something fun, relaxing, chatting, laughing, catching up on life and doing what we do best - lifting each other up (not physically of course 🏋️♂️ 🤣)

Often we are overwhelmed not by the amount of stuff we have to do but not having a strategy to deal with it!

Sometimes it’s the simplest and most obvious of things that can help you out!

Ok so it’s not really a zoo but not sure you can class it as farm as there’s actual real life Zebras, artic foxes, emu’s, lemurs, tamarin monkey’s, dinosaur trail, little boat things and a play park and bouncey castle! 💖 And it’s smack bang in Cassiobury Park 🤫
They’re only open a few times a year and the next open day is October 29th, fab end of half term day out. And there will be a Special Halloween treasure hunt. 🎃

Write it down, with a date, and keep telling yourself you’ll do it on that date.
Dont tell yourself you’ll start tomorrow. “Tomorrow never comes!”
Get really specific! What are you going to do and when?
Be realistic, get all your ducks in a row so you can actually do the thing you want to do. Have you got everything you need to get started.
Free up the time, get rid of all distractions.
Write down your promise to yourself. Then do it, get out of your own way and do it in on the day/time you promised yourself.
You wouldn’t break a promise to anyone else so don’t do it to yourself! 💖

A Glimmer generally means a small, faint or fleeting flash of light. Sometimes it’s the little moments that we miss. Something that gives us a rush of emotions when we take time to notice them. We often get caught up in the busyness of life and miss the magic of these little moments.
These little hands in mine, the bedtime stories and kisses won’t be forever. So much of mumhood is hard but these little moments are what top us up.
Train your brain to start looking out for your little glimmers, what are the moments that give you the fleeting flash of light, once you start to notice them you’ll notice more and more of them 💖
When you’re looking at the end goal, feeling overwhelmed, not sure how you’re ever going to do it - just focus on the next step.
What’s that little step you can take to move, to carry on, to head in the right direction?
Focus on those little steps instead. They’re the important ones and the ones that will get you closer to where you want to be 💖
