2) Pray - We also are in need of people to pray for the children. We believe that prayer matters and makes a difference. Please join us in prayer for these children and those in their lives. If you would like to be a prayer partner, let us know so we can give you specific names to be praying over.
3) Donor - We will be sending a few people down to Pucallpa just before Christmas to shop and hand deliver the clothes to the children and their families. We are in need of financing to help us make our way down there to be the messengers of God's love. We are also welcome to have people join us. If you are interested in this, please contact Jeff McCauley, [email protected] or Emily Newman, [email protected]. THE STORY
Recently, I received a Facebook message from my dear friend, Judy Galan in asking for prayers and some specific help. Judy and her husband Dimas live in Pucallpa, Peru and help lead a small church there. I have been keeping in touch with them since my summer 2009 mission trip down there where they partnered with us to build a church in a small Amazonian village. These are incredibly giving people who love God whole-heartedly. We have been praying for each other as we celebrated joys and walked through difficulties. It was been a beautiful prayer filled relationship, but that's all it has been. They never asked for anything more than prayer. That is, until now. At first, Judy mentioned that there are a few children in their church who have no parents and will go without anything for Christmas this year. I knew it was a true need because she didn't ask for toys for them, but instead asked for clothes to offer them. I immediately felt compassion toward these children and felt the need to do something! I quickly asked her how we could help and she responded with the fact that there are 92 children in the area that need clothes. I was blown away. She had clearly gone into the community and gathered names of those in need. I then began dreaming about how we can provide for each child. This project is a result of this dreaming. So, there you have it. The 92 project. Won't you join us? Won't you help us drop the number of children in need of clothing from 92 to 0? The time is now. Let's be the people of God and share His love with others.
