I am so excited…this is a perfect New Years Eve! Ending 2023 and beginning 2024 with a Tennessee Glamping treat to myself.
Yup, I’m a sucker for all those off the grid and home fixer upper shows. Staying in a dome was on my bucketlist AND it so happens I found one on the way as I drive mom’s car down to Florida!
Got my book, journal, & tea with a great view and cozy place to relax!

With however you chose to finish the year may it bring peace comfort and joy!✨

Well the sun has set on the fall season and finally a moment to look back on my pics. So much goes on and even though I paused on social media, I also paused to capture moments so I could reflect and savor the memories later.
How often are you hitting PAUSE?
Particularly now as we shift into this holiday season with our schedules, our activities, our bellies, all are being filled. Are we pausing enough to fully be in and appreciate the present?

You had a full week and still have so much to do.
Yet there’s this amazing sunset so you decide to take a short break. The water is smooth, its peaceful with the sounds of crickets, frogs, owls and then further in the background you hear it.
Yup.

It’s called STAND UP paddle (SUP), however when you find a place that is calm, I love to SIT!
And float! Letting the water take me as I float and see what I discover.

Who remembers their bestie from summer camp?

Week One FarmCamp done!

It was a short week with 20 amazing kids. The friendships formed, the lessons learned and all the fun experiences made for a FARMTASTIC week.

Week 2, M-F, we will have 45 kids and be open to the public for Strawberry Season.

Summer has begun!

NOTE if you are coming out to pick strawberries, follow to be sure the patch is open for U-pick. Today ONLY the farmyard is open as we had a wonderful crowd yesterday who picked a lot of berries. We need a couple days for more to ripen!

These flowers may wilt and die, however the memory(s) will forever remain.

The sun is setting and the flags have been taken down.
The Memorial Day service at this cemetery up the hill from where I am living, was simple and for whatever reason this year tugged at my heart strings. It wasn’t until later years that Gramps talked a little about his time in the Navy. I don’t personally know anyone who was killed in action. I know a handful of people who have been deployed and are home safely. And now I am so proud of my nephew, ._.cade101 who begins bootcamp with the Marine Corp the end of this month, I am learning more and more from those who serve our country.
The wars and battles that each generation has fought for our country. At the ceremony every name was read out loud of each soldier/veteran that is buried at Center Grove Cemetery. Thank you. You have not been forgotten.

Annual Road Trip: Driving Miss Patty aka my mom!

Said goodbye to her sisters on Bonita Beach and following my passion explored new things and had some insightful conversations.

Tasting new food while meeting for lunch, stopping at a 100pump gas station, and visiting the inspiration for An American Gothic.

Anyone else have road-trips planned for this year?

Pigeon
A. A pose you love and want every practice
B. A bird that sh*ts everywhere, now I gotta wash my car.
C. A pose that makes you cry
D. A bird that brings of childhood memories of Mary Poppins.
E. I don’t like birds and my body doesn’t fit into that shape.

This yoga pose can bring up many thoughts just by looking at it let alone what comes up when you hear “Pigeon Pose” particularly in a Restore or Yin style yoga class.

Some days this position works for me other days I like a different variation.

If your answer was E. No worries! Other possibilities are available where YOU can feel a sweet stretch in your hips without aggravating your knees and giving extra work on your shoulders.

When I was in Florida, the Airbnb we stayed had this cool stool. I admit I often get caught up with whatever I do, I need to have the right ambiance. Since I got home, I found myself skipping practices because I couldn’t find the right place where I wouldn’t get distracted, wouldn’t be disturbed, would be focused and would be motivated.

Immediately walking into this home I knew I was going to find a spot to meditate on this stool.

Now the great thing about meditation, is you don’t have to have specific gear, wear certain apparel or even be at a special location. And you certainly don’t need to have a special stool.

However when you are first starting out, having that spot, cushion, outfit or creating a space that not only is conducive to meditation (or yoga or cooking or sleeping or working or…) but also inviting so you actually do it!

What I learned this week:
My athletic training skills apply to animals as well.
Goat horns are like finger nails with blood vessels.
Tripping and falling face first really sucks.

What does Power Yoga mean to you?
Is tree pose a POWER pose?
Do I have to be FIT to take a power yoga class?
When and how often do you feel powerFULL?

When I think of power, my first thought is speed + strength and the ability to get work done.

I decided to ask chat.openai and the first reply was

“the ability to influence or control the behavior of others, or the ability to affect change in a given situation .”

It then said it depends on the context.

I found this fascinating!
So then I asked about “power yoga” which went on to say it’s a modern style that emphasizes strength, flexibility and endurance. And then concluded in saying it has many mental and emotional benefits enhancing overall well being and lastly saying practice safely, within your limit and with the guidance from a qualified teacher.

We will move with awareness, safely within your range of motion, stand your ground, invite play and engage peace.

Oh this feels so good!

I haven’t taught a weekly class at a studio/fitness center since Covid. That’s been 3 years! It’s amazing how call it a break, disruption, sabbatical, or time off can provide clarity.

Super stoked to be teaching and looking forward to meeting the community in Huxley on select Fridays (this Friday is the first one at 4:15pm!) and Tuesday nights 7:15pm

Classes are open to all levels, all bodies, wear whatever is comfortable as I am here to guide you in whatever way I can help.

The practice of yoga has made a profound difference in my life both on the mat and in my daily living. It started with the physical practice then evolved to mental, emotional and spiritual health and wellbeing.

It began with dance then sports and fitness. My fascination with movement. And then noticing how the mind reacts and responds to our performance (remember I started with dance and sports) with all our mobility or lack there of.

Now I am fascinated with stillness. What makes you stop?
A sunset?
A good book?
A deep stretch?
A prayer?

This is what I love about yoga. We can combine movement and stillness and simply notice.

Notice how we feel
Notice where we are.
Without judgement simply be.
