Our Story

The Yuba County Mounted Sheriff's Posse (YCMSP) provides the Yuba County Sheriff's Office with volunteer staff trained in Search and Rescue techniques, First Aid and CPR, to assist in locating missing or lost persons. We are available to the Yuba County Sheriff's Office on a 24 hour basis, seven days a week to aid in emergency matters.

The Posse is a nonprofit 501(c)4 organization, dedicated to such services as Search and Rescue and assistance during times of disaster. The Posse sponsors various functions throughout the year in order to raise the necessary funds to provide Search and Rescue equipment, as well as providing donations to various community organizations requesting funds from the Posse at various times of the year.

We are proud to be able to provide these services to the local community.

The Posse general meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM in Huckins Hall at the YCMSP arena. We welcome guests interested in becoming volunteer team members that meet the minimum qualifications. (MAP)
