VINCA
Quirky jewelry designed and made in Austin, TX since 2006
Everything you see here is designed and handmade in our studio in downtown east Austin!
NEW Halloween accessories are here! Which are you going to pair with your costume?
🚨Calling all Austin locals!🚨 Can you take in this puppy? 🐶 DM us if you’re interested in providing this puppy with a forever home aka adopting him permanently.
Yesterday, this puppy was found abandoned in a box on the side of the road. 311 can’t help and all other local shelters are filled. He is approximately 6 weeks old and appears to be a terrier mix based on his wiry fur.
Happy Friday the 13th! Which charm is your favorite?
It’s time to add another spooky charm to our F13 necklace. Photo two is the latest charm.
It’s a “New Beginning” of sorts for us as we have been hosting our own TikTok Live show for the past couple of weeks. It’s been pretty frightening trying something new and feeling out of our element. Spoiler alert: just like the paramedic in “Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning” we’ve also been suffering from imposter syndrome and wondering why Violet wasn’t the Final Girl.
Please join us for our next TikTok Live on Thursday, September 19th from 7-9PM CST. It’s our Charm Bracelet Party!
Don’t forget to scritch a black cat 🐈⬛ today!
*Small favor to ask, please read* 😊
Could you please tag YOUR favorite local shop that you think would love Vinca!
Because...
Trade shows are dead.
This photo is mid-set up of my very first Vinca-only trade show in 2013. For those of you unfamiliar, trade shows are for store owners, and not open to the general public.
Designers/makers take a sample of everything they make, put it up in a temporary booth, and then hope the right buyer comes along. Buyers range from hospital gift shops to museum shops to small clothing boutiques, toy stores, and large chains.
This particular show was amazing, but that wouldn't last long. The thing they don't tell you about small business is that one year you can have an amazing year, the next you struggle, and so on. It's a delicate song and dance.
I spent many years chasing good trade shows, spending a small fortune every season, traveling to Las Vegas and New York twice a year hoping to break even and then catch reorders in the coming months. I tried shows in Dallas, Atlanta, even Pigeon Forge. They were all....meh.
Now everything is online, including wholesale. All of our designs are on and boutique owners can shop all our goodies there.
The problem is, just as in person, it's difficult to actually get seen by the ideal shopkeeper.
So that's what I'd like to do! Get some recommendations for great shops that I should try to work with in YOUR town 😊
Please tag them so I can let them know about our upcoming Faire specials and hopefully you'll see Vinca in your fave shop soon. 😊
The STRANGEST thing happened about a year ago.
Amanda went to Las Vegas for less than 24 hours, met up with the people from and we have been cooking up this collection of over 20 styles ever since!
It seems we have a connection to girls with cats, who'd have thought.🐈⬛
Drop your fave Emily memory here (or tell us about your cat, we're listening!) and I'll DM everyone who comments a Top Secret discount code when the collection launches this FRIDAY!

Just a little workshop appreciation post. I got a new granite countertop for our kitchenette to replace the temporary wooden one we had there for four years 😬 and I made a clear custom shelf to go along the length of it foraximon snack storage.
Which piece of art are you curious to know more about? They all have a story.
All my art on the wall makes me super happy, too. ☺️

Also btw marketing is hard and I’ve tried hiring a bajillion different companies and collaborators but they were all very meh or made me super uncomfortable. So I am finally learning how to do it all in house but that is also very uncomfortable because I don’t know how to do a good job either! I just want to be the least meh possible.
I made this with Canva and it was super easy, but still… the colors? The text?? I dunno…..
What’s your birth month 🔪?

Speaking of AWESOME. Paper Sister KILLED IT at and even though I forgot that cash was a thing I managed to figure out how to work the ATM to pay the cover and get in. Earrings are one of a kind! .sister
🛸🍕Have YOU beamed these up yet?!
Grab your eclipse glasses, your favorite pair of Vinca space-themed jewelry and prepare yourself for an afternoon of pure spectacle.
Do you love b&w photography? I certainly do but…hard to do that with product photography. However these machetes happen look the same in b&w 🖤
BLEP! Zoom in to see it. 😋
🥛 🍪 If you ever wondered “What’s THE deal with that giant milk carton?!” We made it for SXSW 2019 to attract people to our booth at the SXSW Marketplace. The milk & cookie earrings were brand spankin’ new at the time and the Chef’s Knives weren’t popular…YET. “Aubrey-Plaza-Knife-a-palooza” happened in the SUMMER of 2019.
🛒😆Feeding the algorithm beast with a juicy carousel of Amanda’s most memorable SXSW experience.
Are you waiting for our XL Chef’s Knife Earrings’ triumphant return? Back in stock soon! #🔪

In Austin, the weirder, the better.
At Vinca, we get inspiration from something seen in a dream, misheard from eavesdropping, or just because it happens to be our favorite (hello, tacos). Back in 2006, while toying with the idea of starting a company, Amanda decided to make something out of the thousands of pounds of small scraps from her family's leather goods factory. There happened to be a large amount of flower shapes left over from a custom job so she used those as the main accent on the first collection. The flowers quickly faded from the catalog to make way for weirder creatures like hammerhead sharks and squirrels, but the flower name "Vinca" stuck. (Don't ask us to make this bracelet again though! We've literally blossomed and moved on to bigger and better things)
Since the humble beginning, the brand is now sold worldwide, loved by customers who appreciate quirkiness from Austin to Korea. From making every single piece herself, the workshop now has several employees who work together as a team to produce thousands of pieces a month.
All of our wooden and acrylic parts are drawn, cut, and assembled in house. We like to call it "micro-manufacturing" and are very happy to be able to produce domestically with full control over the whole process. The vast majority of our raw materials, including chain, plastic, and wood, are also sourced in the U.S. from our sterling chain to our specialty acrylic.
